@Feargal_Sharkey@WindrushWasp Amazing he never said any of this when he was actually in government.
Anyone would think this creep is up for an election sometime soon.
This day in history 6 June 1944, #DDay, British soldiers landed in Normandy alongside Allied forces to begin the liberation of Europe 🪖
Today, we remember their courage, sacrifice, and service 🫡
Lest we forget.
The Day of Days approaches: on this night in 1944, in the final moments before heading to Normandy, 22nd Independent Company officers from 6th Airborne synchronise their watches. On the Left: Captain Robert de Lautour (possibly the first man to land, killed 20 June 1944) #DDay82
D-Day is underway. Some would argue that what's happening right now is the most daring and ultimately successful operation in the history of military Alliances.
Note: the majority of troops are friends of the US from eight countries. Eisenhower has been told that three-quarters of the 23,400 airborne troops will be lost. He's hoping that the prediction will be wrong.
