I think this might help someone understand this better.

- Godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6. There is no evil in faithfully stewarding the resources God gave to you, just like the parable of the talents, each servant that was given a talent was expected to faithfully put it to work and produce results. However, whatever you do that begins to go outside the confines of Godliness will surely lead you to sin as Paul warned.

- Your focus should always be on faithfully stewarding the resources God has put in your hands and if you do this with a desire to honor God, you’ll be focused on service to humanity when you work and never will it be a focus to want to get rich. If your desire when stewarding resources is honoring God, you’re safe, if it is how do I get rich, you will sooner than later find yourself in sin because everything and every person will seem to you like a means to an end and this is anti God’s will which is loving the next man like you love yourself.

- Do not be complacent with work, work hard as a way of honor unto God. Some will work hard and make more than enough for a meal and clothes, some however will work hard and still not earn more than enough for a meal and clothes on their back, regardless of the outcome, we should be content and also use our resources to bless others if we have more and they don’t.

- Lastly God’s will is for you to prosper in all things and in health just as your soul prospers. The measure of this prosperity is not in a certain amount of millions or real estate because how much is enough prosperity? These things never satisfy!. The measure is the prosperity of your soul and this will come from contentment in God’s providence. Any pursuit of prosperity that takes away your peace cannot be the will of God for you because that doesn’t prosper your soul.
