My old boy was getting very weak and his legs could not support him anymore.
So I wrapped him in his favorite warm brown blanket and carried him out to the porch swing
We sat there together for hours just watching the golden sunset over the empty fields
He leaned his heavy head right against my cheek and closed his eyes so peacefully
I held him tight in my arms and whispered how much I love him and thanked him for everything
His muzzle was completely white but to me he was still just my sweet little puppy
He passed away the next morning but I am so glad we shared that quiet sunset together.
@Crazymoments01 Love the porch pirate entrapments. Back in 1975 or 76 or so, @GregRexUzelac and I did the similar with a large pumpkin. We set the stage I guess.
@MrsDrPublius If we could rid the world of the obvious spite we see and respect one another, we would be in a much better place. The keyword is obvious i.e. visible and acted on.
Good Morning,
Please join me for a daily scripture break.
Proverbs 24:17-18:
"Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice, or the Lord will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from them.”
I have read this passage many times and I have always just chalked it up to the idea that God is more gracious and forgiving than I am. There are people who have wreaked so much destruction towards countless people in human history that I want to lead a parade to celebrate their demise and their awaiting judgment.
Admittedly, I still struggle with this today.
However, if I pause just a brief moment and consider a few reminders I believe to be true, then my anger softens and I begin to strongly embrace God’s Wisdom in this passage.
Firstly, if I am disobedient to this instruction then I would displease my Heavenly Father. Well, I don’t want to do that knowingly or intentionally. (John 14:15)
Secondly, nothing can happen unless it passes by God’s hand. God sees the strategic picture in salvation history and He will use many evil things for the good of His people in the future. So I need to completely trust Him, “giving thanks despite the circumstance”. (I Corinthians 10:13)
Thirdly, by gloating and celebrating another person’s fall, how am I presenting a godly example to a fallen world? I’m not. (John 13:34-35)
Fourthly, if I insist on gloating then God may withdraw a punishment they so richly deserve because of me.
Lastly, remember Jesus’ response, “depart from Me I never knew you.” Jesus wasn’t gleeful when He turned these Christians away. If I behaved in such a manner, would Jesus think that about me? Then I would be compelled to ask myself - what is in my heart? Is this moment of vindication towards an evil person worth it? No, it isn’t. (Matthew 7:23)
So, how should you appropriately respond “when your enemy falls?” Focus on the Lord, His Word, His justice. Give thanksgiving and praise the Lord honored His Word. Hold yourself to a higher standard.
Peace and be prepared.
David French has two standards:
He will not judge the Christian theology of leftists such as James Talarico, even if they are Gnostic and heretical.
He will happily judge the Christianity of Trump supporters.
I do not judge his faith. But I do point out that the money that funds him, also rewards this direction.
Welcome to the Women’s Forum. It has been a while since I posted something in this format. What a year and it is almost halfway over!
One of the things that motivated me to start this X account was the eerie silence from certain female corridors in our culture. I’ve discussed many times the many diabolical trends today’s radical feminism movement has introduced to young people, and how they are suffocating our culture. Is anyone speaking for the oppressed women around the world? Are women and children being trafficked around the world without protest? There are some voices sounding the alarm.
I see young men at sporting events acknowledging the Lord through their word and deed. I am hoping we can get young women involved too and embrace their Christian calling.
I have long wanted to spend some time discovering Christian femininity. What does that mean? Let’s slow down and take this opportunity to closely examine the foundational concepts of Christian femininity: what was God’s Intent when women were created, what does the Bible specifically say to women, how can women uniquely influence the domestic church (we all call home), and how can we more “seasoned” women share our journey with younger women?
Some of you may recall I wrote a series of posts discussing what men are looking for in a potential spouse (with the help of CP of course). Well, let’s start there because we are designed to need the opposite sex in our lives to complete us. Our culture is relentlessly attempting to invent false models of human marital relationships.

We took several weeks in March to examine what are the things men long for in their marital relationships. Let’s begin at the beginning. In Genesis 2:18 it says, "The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Okay, this may be controversial for some but I would like to approach this topic from God's perspective. Throughout the first few Genesis chapters God skillfully created an amazing physical universe, as He did so He frequently assessed the quality of His Work. In Genesis 1:4,10,12,18,25, and 31 - God found His work to be very good.
Have you ever wondered why God didn’t create Adam and Eve at the same time? I don’t have an answer why Eve was created after God identified that Adam was alone in the Garden without suitable companionship. Back to Genesis 2:18 - “…it is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him(Adam).”
Remember in Genesis 1:26-27 it says, “Then God said, “ Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” This was God’s original vision of His Creation here on earth.
The Holy Trinity was present at the moment the universe was formed- “…Let us…our image, our likeness.” If you will recall, we discussed this in previous posts. Here is what I wanted to highlight from this passage. “…He created them; male and female. He created them.”
So what have we learned from these passages.
First, God demonstrated His compassion for Adam because he was alone in the Garden. By creating what God called “…a suitable helper for Adam.” - God understood loneliness. God created us for relationship with Him - that’s why God knew it wasn’t good for Adam to be alone in the Garden. Secondly, humans were made to function as custodians over God’s Creation on earth. Thirdly, God created Eve with the Intent to create a complimentary companion. We all know the story and what happened next.
I believe the foundational concept of suitability is the key to Christian femininity. God purposefully created Eve to perfectly compliment her husband, Adam; Adam’s strengths perfectly complimented his wife. Women have lost sight of God’s Intent/Will for women. The answer to equality is for both sexes is to acknowledge the need for the other and to resist any inclination to dominate the other sex. Neither sex was created to be dominated by another human being.
In today’s society, we talk about equality between the sexes. I personally struggled with this in my youth because I embraced a lie. Today, radical feminism wants to eliminate sex roles in society completely; that’s their mission.
Do you want to know what changed my perspective that "women were simply slaves for men" according to the Bible? I stopped and considered the character of God. Please look at Genesis 1:26-27 again. "Men and women are made in His likeness, His image.” God will never disrespect His Image and neither should humans with each other.
Once I changed my perspective, I was convicted that I must study the Word of God and become the woman God created me to be. Why? Because He made me in His likeness, His image - He sent Jesus to the Cross to obtain my salvation; I must possess some inherent value to Him. This is our launching point for exploring Christian femininity because this is its origin.
Let’s begin with the concept of suitability. What was God’s Intent/Will? Merriam-Webster dictionary defines suitability as, "satisfying propriety - proper.” So in Genesis 2:18 - God decided it wasn’t good for Adam to be alone. God created Eve and brought her to Adam. From God’s perspective - He brought perfect balance to the relationship between Adam and Eve. Eve was suitable for Adam because she possessed traits he was missing by design and Adam possessed traits she was missing by design.
Sounds perfect doesn’t it? So what happened? Deception/Fear/Error all played a part in the Fall of Man.
Now that we have established something that the world has lost sight of and that is God designed and created the world. Let’s remember Psalm 24:1 says, “…the earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it…” God made us custodians of His earthly Creation not owners! Why is that important? Everyone knows the owner makes the rules, sets the policies, and guides the organization into the future - the owner has the final word.
In the upcoming weeks let’s examine Christian femininity more deeply. Here is a list of proposed topics.

Peace and be prepared.
Welcome to the Women’s Forum. This is Post #6: “The Proverbs 31 Woman."
I am sure most of you have studied this passage at your congregation or bible study group. I do not think I will have an exceptional new revelation about the character of this woman. However, I think this scripture is a good foundation for studying Christian femininity.
Before we get started I wanted to make a few suggestions. There are countless verses in the Bible that apply to everyone - please continue to incorporate these lessons into your biblical studies as well.
I personally like to journal. It helps keep my thoughts organized and I keep notes on the insights the Holy Spirit shares during my prayer time. It isn’t a requirement to journal but I would say try it and see if it suits you.
So let’s turn our attention to Proverbs 31:10-31:
This is a very long passage, so I would recommend having your personal Bible open to Proverbs 31 and refer to it as needed.
With our first review of Proverbs 31 let’s select one word or short phase that captures the intent of the verse.
Verse 10 - noble wife is scarce/ very valuable.
Verse 11 - confidence in you (trustworthy).
Verse 12 - you do good for your husband/never harm him (exhibit proper motives towards your husband).
Verse 13 - determine household needs/works with your hands.
Verse 14 - stocks home with supplies.
Verse 15 - early riser, food prepped for family and staff.
Verse 16 - skillful businesswoman (her earnings).
Verse 17 - dedicated to your work/physically fit.
Verse 18- works long hours / astute businesswoman.
Verse 19 - businesswoman (makes garments).
Verse 20 - cares for poor with (time, talent, money).
Verse 21 - ensures family properly clothed.
Verse 22 - decorates home nicely - creates a sanctuary of peace for the family.
Verse 23 - husband has confidence the homefront is safe; frees the husband to his job.
Verse 24 - businesswoman.
Verse 25 - strength and dignity.
Verse 26 - wise and faithful lessons shared.
Verse 27 - organized home/never lazy over home affairs.
Verse 28 - receives praise from family members.
Verse 29 - receives praise from family members.
Verse 30 - fears the Lord / not distracted by concerns of beauty and charm.
Verse 31 - honored by husband in public square (you have a good reputation).
Please go through this list of attributes and use an electronic device or paper and create two columns - Strength and Weakness. For you, place the word from each verse in one of those two columns. Next, based on your experience in your marriage - put an asterisk adjacent to the trait you think your husband values the most (select at least 5 traits).
Now, compare the number of your strengths with the number of traits you marked as something your husband values. Pray the Holy Spirit helps you to create a study plan to examine each trait, its meaning, and how does it apply to your specific circumstances.
I have to mention what struck me in this passage, the most often cited trait of the Proverbs 31 woman is that she is an astute business woman (verses 16, 18, 19, 24). Is that what the radical feminists mean when they say the Bible tells women to be slaves to men? Once again, a lie told over and over will eventually gain traction. The older I get the more skeptical I become by anything said in our culture. You cannot trust anything in the secular world.
Peace and be prepared.
Amid the revelation that Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison met with and took bribes from Somali fraudsters, it has now been revealed that his son has been collecting a $110,000 salary and extorting taxpayers out of a $57,000 living-expense stipend from the Minneapolis City Council while attending Harvard University.
The state government of Minnesota has fallen.

My name is Ella, I'm 17 years old.
I do long jump. I play volleyball. I go to school in New Richmond, Wisconsin.
When my school allowed a biological male into the girls' restroom without telling parents —
I went to the school board.
With my name attached.
In my own town.
I got bullied for it. Harassed online. Even some of my own teachers came after me.
I'm still here.
Because here's what I know:
The net in women's volleyball is set nearly a foot lower for a reason.
A biological male can hit a ball across that net at force that could seriously injure a girl.
And in track — all it takes is three biological males entering the girls' category
and not a single girl in this state stands on a podium.
I didn't speak up because it was easy.
I spoke up because somebody had to.
The Supreme Court is about to answer the question every girl in America is asking.
We're ready.

@MrsDrPublius The rewards of giving really do outweigh the pride of earning. Doing for others versus doing for yourself. Definitely can be used in all parts of our lives.
