A bit of common sense, you would have the traffic lights 9am till 4pm to allow rush hour traffic to flow. It’s the pavement not the road where the work is taking place. But it’s better to increase pollution and cost local businesses money and this is for 6 weeks!

@NewcastleCC Thank you so much for causing a 3 mile traffic jam stretching from top of forth bank, over the redheugh bridge and then all the way down the A184 to the AI north bound. Because you need to upgrade a pavement. The extra pollution, missed appointments etc is worth it!

@NewcastleCC No your part time workers (finished at 3pm yesterday) are stopping people getting to work! The pavement “upgrade” which will take 6 weeks! Caused a 3 mile traffic jam from fourth street back to the AI junction at the A184. Well done for the extra pollution and cost to business

@Lord_Talbot64 You do realise that almost 50% of the welfare bill is state pension? You realise the NHS wastes so much money on private health because MP’s friends get the contracts? There are a lot of cuts that could be made with some simple actions but every government is self serving

@pjsuffolk @Jenny_1884 You do realise the state pension is a benefit? Like some other benefits you have to pay so many years of NI to access it. All these benefits are taxable too. There is no pot your paying into you just add years of NI stamps to qualify. Next it will be means tested to save money.

@emirates I fly with Emirates for the first time on Thursday. Ncl to BKK. A 20 hour journey. I’ve noticed my connection in Dubai is always delayed! Ek0376. I’m disabled and this is going to turn my trip into 24hours plus! I normally use Qatar and had no issues. Is there a reason?
