Banyamulenge Global Advocacy (BGA) alerts the international community to a second concealed withdrawal of Rwandan troops and their proxy armed groups, notably AFC/M23, from previously occupied areas. These forces are currently redeploying to the high plateaus of Uvira, Fizi, and Mwenga, with the objective of further destabilizing Congolese populations in general and intensifying the hostage-taking of the Banyamulenge, who are already under the control of MRDP, RDF, AFC/M23, and Red Tabara.

We will not cease to denounce the staged maneuvers of the Kigali regime, which instrumentalizes the Banyamulenge community by falsely presenting itself as their protector, while its true objective is to expose them, subject them to violence, and use them as human shields in order to shift the blame onto the Congolese government.

BGA solemnly places the Banyamulenge living in the high plateaus under the watch of the international community and calls upon it as a witness: should massacres or acts of a genocidal nature occur, Rwanda must be held fully accountable for the resulting consequences, given its repeated threats to eradicate and uproot this community from Congolese territory.

Let the world be fully aware of Kigali’s schemes: under the pretense of withdrawal, Rwanda is in fact redeploying its forces to continue its operations of violence, destabilization, and hostage-taking of the Banyamulenge, with the aim of creating a pretext to justify and prolong its aggression on the territory of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
