@petespiliakos I dunno. Flight 93 mindset broke something. Platner or Paxton getting to the Senate when Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Obama are in office were not worth making any ethical/moral concessions. Hillary being president really made folks lose it.
@NoahCRothman Must be great to not feel the economic or personal consequences of a military operation started by a complete train wreck of a president. You’re a lucky guy Noah!
@fredbauerblog People are gonna try to make this out to be “the process” leading up to the end of the filibuster…”well we spent a lot of time talking about the bill and holding different kinds of votes, now let’s pass it with just a simple majority”. Mark it.
@DavidAFrench@EggerDC I think your pal @JonahDispatch has a different opinion about what makes people lean into identity politics. You two should hash it out on the pod!
@petespiliakos What’s wrong with just taking people as they are. If people say a thing is wrong so be it and if other people try to likart scale a wrong then so be it. You will be more accepting of the former and reject the latter. Why paint millions of people as somehow morally shaky?
@Tyler_A_Harper I don’t think you’re wrong but I also think you’re missing the fact that a lot of people thought Trump was a loser based on how 2020 shook out. “Yea the GOP base loves him but every else saw Jan 6th” mindset. That colored peoples thinking.
@christopherrufo@DouthatNYT Starting to see the line between, “I disagree with this guy because I think he’s wrong, not unprincipled or immoral” and “I disagree with this guy because he’s hostile to the constitution that keeps this country free”. Good to find out whos who.
