NASCAR: we will listen to our fans
Fans: Man we love racing can you keep this up, improve the car, make stage breaks not matter as much, give us more on track time
NASCAR: What about shorter races???
It took SDS and @MLBTheShow ~4 hours to fix the Mini Seasons glitch…
It’s taken them 3 months to fix:
1. Menu Screens
2. Hader/King glitch
3. DD cheating
4. Bunt cheese
Safe to say, they only fix problems that impact THEIR bottom line. DO BETTER and LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY.
I’ll continue to say it.
NASCAR adding Prime Video, The CW, and Warner Bros. to the new TV deal was one of their best decisions.
FOX and NBC are obviously great, but all of them combined are amazing.
Look at the last annual Forbes report on the Miami Marlins: $320M in revenue, $99M in player expenses, and $53M in operating income, and a $400M increase in team value. Marlins ownership doesn't think the system is broken... they love it!

Owners are basically saying “we’ve always been able to spend $171m+, but don’t want to” and want fans to think the top 6 teams are the issue.
Look at NYM, spending ≠ winning.
Adjustments to deferrals + forcing owners to spend instead of pocketing rev sharing is the way.
Initial questions for Manfred if I’m a fan of a high payroll team is why shouldn’t my team be allowed to spend the money it generates on the roster?
If I’m a fan of a small spender, how can they have the ability to now pay 2x the amount they’re paying? Why not already do it?
The owners know the Dodgers are a hot topic name to get people mad so they will use it to try and give them the public perception. They don’t care about competitive balance.
In case you were wondering how big a focal point the Dodgers would be in labor talks, here are some graphics sent by MLB to help make their case for a salary cap …
Side note: If the union agrees to the concept of a cap, the league would be open to negotiating a host of things incuding phasing it in, a Larry Bird-esque rule and changes to free agency/arbitration etc, etc. Early stages here.
