Celebrating 20 Years of Transformation in Karemo! 💪🏽🥳

Yesterday, our World Vision Kenya Board Vice-Chair Grace Munjuri, MPRSK. and our Senior Leadership Team, led by Fredrick Kasiku , Director of Program Effectiveness, Catherine Timbomei, Ag. Operations Director and Samuel Githungo, Senior Manager, Legal and Governance, joined government representatives, partners, and community members to honor two decades of hope, resilience, and progress for Karemo Division, Siaya County!

Since 2004, World Vision Kenya has walked alongside this community, overcoming challenges like HIV/AIDS, Poverty, and Climate Change.

Through different projects, we reached over 108,000 people, with 28,764 children being at the heart of our work, achieving incredible milestones:

✅ An increase in the adoption of climate-smart farming from 7.2% in 2016 to 22.6% in 2020.
✅ Increased skilled birth attendance from 55.1% in 2011 to 83.1% in 2023.
✅ Child labor rates reduction from 12.6% in 2021 to just 1.1% in 2024.
✅ Access to clean water surged from 2.4% in 2020 to 60.4% in 2024 ­- a significant improvement in a basic human right.
✅ Health facility deliveries reached an impressive 90.3% in 2024 from 36.6% in 2004

As we look ahead, let us remember that the journey of transformation is ongoing and endeavor to continue bringing hope, healing, and a brighter future to the people of Karemo and Kenya at large!
