@realDharmakirti Thinking is often terrifying to those who test well, even the genuinely bright. Thinking is working without a net. Challenging God and the ancestors. Thinking is dangerous. Many who can do it, still do not. And many who may take longer to do so, still come up with better ideas.
@realDharmakirti Ah. I agree, actually. I taught highschool econ. 90% incapable of critical thinking. But the capacity to think is necessary but not sufficient. Must actually *think*. Requires a kind of indefinable openness, courage, creativity. My *smartest* kids not the most thoughtful.
@realDharmakirti Someone w 80 IQ almost certainly could not fly a jet. However someone w 150 IQ is not necessarily a better pilot than someone w 120 IQ.
@realDharmakirti Ah. Here is where we disagree. I think "all else being equal" is assuming away the most important traits. The car analogy is apt. IQ measures something, but it's not, in my opinion, as important as many make it out to be. I agree w Taleb in that respect.
Just a reminder to tweet that Trump means chaos

Rose in Titanic lets Jack go after she specifically promised not to do so and then forces a bunch of dudes on a boat to listen to her endless meandering story before she tosses the diamond they were looking for into the ocean and then dies on their boat in the middle of the ocean
