His jurisdiction claim is deliberately misleading. The ICC can investigate crimes committed on the territory of a member state even when the accused is from a non-member state. Palestine joined the Rome Statute in 2015, and the Court has ruled that its territorial jurisdiction covers Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Invoking persecuted Christians while trying to cripple international justice is obscene political theatre. These new announcements come after major news outlets including CBS News, ABC News, CNN, Fox News, and NBC News suspended press pool coverage of Trump over his decision last Friday to ban CNN, Politico, and MS NOW from the White House over their alleged "fake news" stories. That collective pushback resulted in a particularly embarrassing incident for Trump, because there was no audio for his big White House helipad ribbon cutting ceremony today.

BREAKING: LOL! Trump gets publicly humiliated at his big White House helipad event after the major outlets refused to give him a press pool — resulting in a lack of audio for his ranting remarks.

This one really backfired bigly on him...

"Yeah there— Okay, so there is no microphone because... There's no microphone because the pool cameras aren't there," said a Newsmax host reporting on the incident. "So maybe, Tim, this is one example of it backfiring just a little bit."

The video showed Trump cutting a ribbon to celebrate his hideous new White House helipad, but viewers couldn't hear what he was saying because of the press pool's absence. Since the reporters didn't show up, there were no high-quality professional microphones present.

On Friday, Trump barred CNN, Politico, and MS NOW from the White House on the grounds that they're supposedly "fake news," which just means that they accurately report on his disastrous administration.

In retaliation, CBS News, ABC News, CNN, Fox News, and NBC News banded together to announce that they would be suspending press pool coverage of Trump.

"The public has a vital interest in receiving accurate, independent information about its government. No administration should reject a news organization because it objects to its reporting," they said in a joint statement.

The press pool is a dedicated, rotating group of journalists, complete with cameras and audio equipment, that travels with the President to provide outlets with a steady stream of updates on his latest remarks and actions. They also provide video footage when he delivers a speech or attends a noteworthy event. It's clearly something that the attention-obsessed Trump took for granted. He failed to game this attack on the free press out and now he's paying the price.

And you just know that this is exactly the kind of thing that gets under his skin. He's fixated on all of these "renovations" and building projects, and he was presumably looking forward to this helipad unveiling. What should have been a moment of gloating and self-congratulation turned into a display of muted helplessness.

We have a son whose wedding is being paid for by rich Russians and oligarchs that have connections to Putin. We have Jared Kushner, who got $2 billion for his investment firm from the Saudis while also doing diplomacy in the Middle East.

We have the Kushners who are trying to buy private islands and selling all sorts of merchandise that’s being promoted, oftentimes through government resources. We also have, of course, this insane amount of stock trading that the president himself is doing to enrich himself and his family.

And, of course, the sons sitting on boards of private companies that are then getting contracts from the federal government. The amount of corruption is unprecedented. And not only are they lining their pockets, they’re stealing the wealth of hardworking Americans, they’re stealing the hard-earned labor and wealth of working-class people, and then funneling that money to themselves and to the rich donors and large corporations and CEOs across this country.

As they get richer, costs go up for the American people. And we know that Republicans in the House and in the Senate are complicit by not calling out this corruption.

BREAKING: POLITICAL EARTHQUAKE! Prime Minister Mark Carney announces that Canada is in talks to join a "unique alliance" with the European Union — cutting Trump off at the knees.

"What we are looking — and will begin discussions for — is a unique alliance between Canada and ​the European Union," Carney said. "We share the same values, we have the ⁠same priorities and we have very complementary strengths."

He added that Canada is not looking to become a "member" of the EU, but the roadmap he's laying out could be the best of both worlds. A possible "associate member" status would deepen trade ties between Canada and a roughly $21 trillion single market. At the same time, the unique status of this new relationship would allow Canada to maintain its national identity in a meaningful way.

Carney is traveling to France and the United Kingdom this week, will deliver an address to the European Parliament, and will attend the State of the European Union address by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen ​in Strasbourg.

According to the Globe and Mail, it was actually the EU who suggested this special associate membership, a new, specially created status, the details of which are still being ironed out. It would represent an unprecedented move by the EU, which has been rigid when it comes to admitting non-European nations.

This astonishing development comes as Trump continues to escalate his trade war and deranged rhetoric against the United States' northern neighbor, shredding our closest alliance. The White House has shown that we cannot be trusted to remain a stable partner because we are only ever one bad election away from empowering a demented, criminal lunatic.

Under discussion is an arrangement that would allow Canadian goods, services, and workers in crucial strategic sectors like energy, AI, and defense to move freely between their home country and the EU, essentially moving borders of the EU to encompass Canada.

On top of that, Canada and the EU are discussing joint projects like laying underwater cables, the construction of data centers, cloud storage, and other key technological endeavors. As if that weren't enough, they may end up building out new systems for delivering Canadian energy straight to the EU.

Carney, who through his bold, unprecedented leadership has staked a claim to being the leader of the free world, has spoken regularly with EU leaders like French ​President Emmanuel Macron, and the relationships are quickly deepening.

This was unthinkable just a few short years ago, but thanks to Trump the world is reordering itself — and leaving America in the dust.

So much for Canada becoming the 51st state.
