@GregTSargent Carville: "when I mean dripping identity politics I don't mean dropping identities, I mean a specific issue that I also do not care about. But I'm too inarticulate to separate the two"
@atrupar There's something to be said of how the right has relentlessly messages on this. It was a losing issue for almost 3 November's running, it was a loser as far back as 2015 but they never gave up on this loser issue.
Look, the Harris campaign made a huge push for center-right voters. You could blame this loss on the left if the strategy worked and they pulled in a ton of “moderates” at the expense of losing progressives. That’s not what happened though. They alienated the left for *nothing*
My mom and dad were the kids who got the free breakfast, my dad used to tell me how enamored he was with the Panthers whenever they came to his school. He said they were so cool and disciplined but also very kind and “sharp” lol
You can bet you ass I'm watching how Dems respond to Sarah McBride in the coalition. Because, if Dems want me to be part of their coalition, it's not gonna be because HaRm ReDuCtIoN. You either want my vote or you don't.
It's notable to me that after years of fear-mongering about trans women playing sports, Republican leaders are now so emboldened that they won't even acknowledge that trans people exist. Almost like it was never really about sports.
