Music by Russian artists will be unavailable in Ukraine on Spotify and Apple Music. This was announced by Oleksandr Sanchenko, head of the parliamentary subcommittee on the music industry. He explained that a list of performers will be sent to the NSDC for blocking on streaming platforms. Some of the list is ready, and the rest is still being processed.
Streaming services will block music only based on NSDC
decisions or law. Banning by language is not possible due to European integration requirements. Efforts are underway to quickly approve the blocking of about 120 artists.

The horrific antisemitic terrorist attack at a Hanukkah festival in Sydney is beyond appalling.
It is a shocking reminder that antisemitism and hate is not only toxic and far too present and widespread around the world, it is deadly. It must be vigorously condemned, confronted and overcome.
As Jewish communities light the Hanukkah candles around the world, a holiday of light and dedication, may we find light in the darkness and rededicate ourselves to fighting the scourge of hate.
The world knows this unforgettable melody and sings it in numerous languages. “Shchedryk” (Carol of the Bells), inspired by a Ukrainian folk carol, became a global symbol of Christmas.
It was composed by Ukrainian Mykola Leontovych, born on this day in 1877.
Leontovych was a teacher, composer, and choir conductor who dedicated his life to recording and revitalising Ukrainian folk songs.
His music carries a special kind of magic: no matter the language, the melody resonates with joy, hope, and the spirit of celebration.
Leontovych was tragically killed in 1921 by Soviet secret police for defending Ukrainian culture. But his legacy lives on, and "Shchedryk" continues to unite people around the world.

The soldier will never come back, yet the cat continues to wait by the photo.
A new mural has appeared at the Kyiv children’s hospital — the one Russia deliberately struck in July 2024.
Thank you to all who help us guard our skies and protect our children’s lives.
Thought provoking text from Serhii Marchenko about the sinister motives of MAGA:
Elon Musk has finally said out loud what MAGA truly thinks about a united Europe: “The EU should be abolished, and sovereignty returned to individual countries so that governments can better represent their people.”
In reality, Musk couldn’t care less about those peoples or the European states that would supposedly “better” represent their citizens on their own rather than within the EU.
His real goal is simple: weaken Europe.
Because if Europe was not united, it could not set the rules for how he does business there. With his enormous financial and media power, Musk could easily crush small, fragmented European states. But with the European Union, that won’t fly. On the contrary — it is the EU that squeezes Musk and forces him to pay for the fraudulent “blue check” verification scheme he tried to monetize.
Against the backdrop of Musk’s emotional outburst, it becomes crystal clear why MAGA is so eager to get rid of Ukraine and hand it over to Putin. It sounds wild, but right now Ukraine is beating America in the competition for the role of Europe’s defender. And MAGA hates that.
Before Ukraine became strong, the United States held an exclusive security lever over Europe. Only America could protect Europe from russia, and Americans dictated the terms. Europe had no choice but to comply.
A strong Ukraine changes that: America looses its security monopoly. Europe gains room to maneuver and is no longer fully dependent on the United States.
The over-groomed American lackeys of the Trump administration want russia to attack Europe so they can step in as “mediators” and profit from the war — the same way they are now profiteering from Ukrainian war.
The Germans, French, and British understand this, which is why they’re working around the clock to rebuild their defense industries. Unfortunately, they’re still not ready, and so for now they maneuver and buy time.
Also unfortunately, they still don’t fully trust Ukraine — which is why they hesitate to arm Ukraine more decisively. They worry that one day Ukraine might turn those weapons against them.
It increasingly looks like the only ones truly invested in preserving a strong and united Europe are the Europeans themselves. America, just as in both world wars, is not a true ally but a situational partner. And Ukraine is Europe — that is why Ukraine matters.
