Began my visit to Switzerland by co-chairing a meeting with Ms. Helene Budliger Artieda, State Secretary for Economic Affairs of Switzerland, @SECO_StateSec, and representatives of leading Swiss pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in research and innovation, as well as on new investment opportunities for Swiss pharma companies in India's rapidly growing healthcare and life sciences sector. 🇮🇳🇨🇭

The Capacity Building Programme on “Viksit Bharat through Trade & Economic Growth” brought together discussions on India's trade architecture, Free Trade Agreements, trade negotiations and the macroeconomic factors shaping trade-led growth.

The programme explored the linkages between trade, services, investments, foreign exchange reserves and the global economy, while examining opportunities and challenges in an increasingly interconnected international trade environment.

The Department of Commerce held a stakeholder interaction in Hyderabad to highlight India’s export-led growth over the past 12 years and the opportunities emerging for Telangana in the evolving global trade landscape. Speaking at the event, Ms. Priya P. Nair, Economic Adviser, Department of Commerce, highlighted the role of policy reforms, market diversification, digital trade facilitation and export promotion initiatives in strengthening India’s position in global trade.

The interaction also focused on enhancing export competitiveness, leveraging opportunities under India’s FTA framework and supporting greater participation of exporters and MSMEs in global markets.

APEDA has facilitated the first-ever export of GI-tagged Tezpur Litchi from Assam to Dubai, marking a major milestone for agricultural exports from the North Eastern Region. Known for its exceptional sweetness, aroma, and quality, Tezpur Litchi is now reaching international markets, enhancing the global recognition of India's GI-tagged products.

The initiative has also created better market opportunities for Assam’s farmers, helping them earn higher returns while strengthening India’s agricultural export ecosystem.
