"The law bans the use of the title 'doctor' by nonphysicians in clinical venues. APNs and PAs with doctorates who identify themselves as 'doctors' must make it clear in their advertising that they are not a medical doctor or a physician."--About f***ing time. Now do other states.
@ENPDoc@CesarJBlanco Peer reviewed by whom? What measures are they looking at? You seem not to know the data & what outcome “these so call studies looked at”….studies actually show NPs increase cost, ED referral, prescribe unnecessary antibiotics and opioid prescriptions, consult more etc
@DrHazmatic@GallaherCaren That is practicing medicine w/o a medical license...which has been legalized by legislators. Where else in any country can someone with a master's degree practice medicine(NPs are RN's with master's degrees)? The Wisconsin governor got it. That education matters. And said no.
@CesarJBlanco This is a disingenuously framed video to make it sound like these patients would die unless these “restrictions” are lifted . These safeguards are NOT restrictions, and are meant for patient safety. Being a physician is not like acting one on TV. @TSAPhysician @CRCook1978
This is totalitarian control of physicians’ lives: Optum is your employer , network carrier, (personal) health insurer, your loan officer , and will soon be your collection agency too. @TSAPhysicians@ASALifeline@ZachJonesForTX@EPanesth@CRCook1978 https://t.co/cy1jeSR0ZN
@CatherineEPDoc@psych_biscuits Sometime I understand why ED does this but at time its unnecessary expense to patient. Also unnecessary jamming of the system: asking me to admit for Gluc of high 300s, no other lab abnormality. Or CPK of 640 after a car accident with negative trauma workup&nl kidney function.
@psych_biscuits Well he is grooming his daughters friends…idk. Not sure why a dad feels the need to provide condom and plan B to his 12yo daughter and her friends (disguised as him pretending to care but sounds like he is covering his tracks).
@CesarJBlanco Once again showing pure ignorance on the topic of healthcare. Primary Care is literally the most broad specialty in medicine. It covers literally everything. 🤦🏻♀️
@NeedSomeReality@out2sea90210@RBlockMD This also shows me how much u dont know about street medicine but you used it as an example to argue about PA autonomy. How about u actually go out there & see what clinicians do to help homeless pts.
@NeedSomeReality@out2sea90210@RBlockMD I never said I do that now. When I was a med student I went and assessed homeless pts for BP checks, dental infection, diabetic foot etc snd referred them to get appropriate care. There was an NP, a PA student, other med students & social worker in our team
Patients presenting to an Emergency Department deserve to be seen by a doctor. It doesn’t matter if it’s a rural ER, an Urban ER or a Free-Standing ER.
The skills needed to stabilize patients should be handled only by those who know how.
Rural patients are not deserving of any less.
@aha@texlege@txp4p
Has anyone felt dread? How about panic? Has anyone shook a little from nervousness? ERs for decades have been used as our safety net to care in an urgent situation. U should now feel fear because hospitals/PE/politicians are ELIMINATING physician led care!

@pppforpatients Private equity loves NPs. Paid less to order more tests and increase hospital length of stay (based on the evidence). Increasing NPs also decreases bedside nurse to patient ratio Through nursing workforce shortages
@CesarJBlanco Rural areas also deserve physician care. You should be embarrassed about arguing for those with less education and training to take care of patients in rural areas. Many docs are being fired and pushed out, and replaced by NPs.
