The Government of Goa and Zydus have joined hands to launch “LiverForever - Goa Healthcare Model” — a first-of-its-kind state-wide public health program aimed at early screening and prevention of Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD) and Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH).

Briefing the media, Hon'ble Health Minister Shri Vishwajit Rane (@visrane), laid down the programme contours which aims to screen 3 lakh people over the next three years, creating a robust ecosystem for early detection, lifestyle counselling, disease management and follow-up care.

Speaking at the launch, Ms Swati Dalal, Managing Director, Zydus Healthcare Ltd, also highlighted the importance of early awareness and timely intervention in improving liver health outcomes. She reaffirmed Zydus' commitment to advancing public health through initiatives such as #LiverKiSuno and Liver Forever.

With almost 40% of the adult population at risk of fatty liver disease, this joint initiative focuses on proactive prevention and better liver health outcomes.

At the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva, we had the honour of showcasing how Goa is pioneering lung cancer care—with artificial intelligence at the heart of it.

We’ve become the first state in India to deploy AI-powered lung cancer screening at a statewide scale, in collaboration with @AstraZeneca and @qure_ai

In just a few months:

•AI has been deployed across 19 public health facilities

•Early-stage lung cancers are now being detected through routine X-rays

•Integration with existing digital infrastructure made it frictionless and fast

•The qXR AI acts as a second pair of expert eyes, spotting what human fatigue might miss

This is real-world, real-time innovation—not in a lab, but in the public health system.
