I genuinely enjoyed #TheMandalorianAndGrogu 👍🏼. Yes, it feels somewhat slight as a Star Wars film, and does drag a bit in places - but it’s entertaining, unpretentious, and a welcome return to Mandoverse form after the disappointing season 3. Now bring on 2027’s #Starfighter!
Loved the season finale of #DaredevilBornAgain - gripping from start to finish, and an episode that fundamentally changes the show in fascinating (not to mention irrevocable) ways moving forwards.
It’s also more welcome evidence of Marvel’s return to top form; roll on season 3!
… with his brothers is almost entirely ignored.
But - it’s hugely entertaining, with (obviously) incredible music, choreography, and retro aesthetics. You leave the film reminded that MJ was a true genius - albeit a tortured one who never had a chance at a normal life. #Michael
Really enjoyed the film #Michael. Both actors playing MJ do a fantastic job; Jaafar Jackson in particular channels him with incredible accuracy. Colman Domingo is also excellent.
Given that the film’s story ends in 1988, I don’t understand the criticisms regarding the movie …
… shying away from difficult topics (though it’ll be fascinating to see if the inevitable sequel does); many of the scenes with Joe Jackson make for uncomfortable viewing.
The film isn’t perfect. The script sometimes hammers home its platitudes, and Michael’s relationship …
Have loved every minute of the #Scrubs revival - a near perfect example of nostalgia done right, and how to seamlessly blend old and new. Definitely hope it comes back for more 🤞🏼.
This week’s episode of #DaredevilBornAgain is utterly brilliant. The intercutting between flashbacks and the present is incredibly effective, @vincentdonofrio is amazing, and there are some hugely welcome returning faces.
The ending is devastating; cannot wait for next week!
Ryan Gosling is brilliant in the leading role (it makes me all the more excited for his Star Wars flick next year), and the film is never less than engaging. Who knew one could find a big piece of rock adorable and heartbreaking at the same time? Do please watch. #ProjectHailMary
I was fortunate enough to go to #ComicConSanDiego last Summer, and one of my favourite panels was the one for #ProjectHailMary. I’m happy to say (especially as a fan of ‘The Martian’, the book for which is by the same author) that the film doesn’t disappoint.
So good to have #DaredevilBornAgain back on our screens 🙌🏼. You can already feel the step up in quality after just 1 episode, with this season thankfully unfettered by the massive retooling S1 underwent. Love having Karen Page back. And Matthew Lillard’s new character is ace!
Another blow in a bad week for BTVS fans 😮.
An undoubtedly troubled man in later years, but his earnest and endearing portrayal of Xander Harris brought a very human core to the iconic show.
Enjoyed the ending to S1 of #StarTrekStarfleetAcademy - a solid finale to a somewhat mixed bag of a first season, though it continues to show potential.
Giamatti absolutely steals the show with his scenery devouring performance - more of him, please!
Now roll on S4 of SNW 🖖🏼!
I’m saddened and genuinely surprised by this. I hope that another network picks this up, but I doubt it. The series seemed like a no brainer, but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be 😔. #BTVS
Loving the #Scrubs reboot - brilliantly funny, heartfelt, and nostalgic in all the right ways 🩺. All the principals slip back into their roles like a pair of well worn shoes, and somehow also look like they’ve barely aged a day. Can’t wait for the janitor to come back too!
The biggest surprise for me is Kingsley’s brilliant turn as Trevor Slattery. After ‘Shang-Chi’ I’d genuinely felt the character had more than run its course, but he turns out to possibly be the best thing about the whole series.
I’d love to see a season 2 👍🏼.
Just finished the excellent #WonderMan. Abdul-Mateen gives a subtle, engaging performance in an MCU project with low stakes but a surprising amount of heart. At its core, it’s a show about accepting your identity, striving to realise your dreams, and - ultimately - friendship.
