India’s export ecosystem has witnessed significant growth and transformation over the last 12 years, driven by trade reforms, digital initiatives, enhanced market access, and strategic trade partnerships. These efforts by the Department of Commerce have helped raise India’s exports to a record US$ 863 billion in FY 2025-26, reinforcing the vision of India as a Global Export Hub.

Reflecting this momentum, Odisha exported 100,897 metric tonnes of seafood valued at USD 623.28 million (₹5,428.67 crore) during 2025-26. Backed by robust fisheries infrastructure, expanding aquaculture capacity, and improved export logistics, the state continues to strengthen India’s presence in global seafood markets.

DGTR is working to strengthen fair-trade practices and ensure a level playing field for domestic industry in line with WTO norms. Additional Secretary & Director General Trade Remedies Shri Amitabh Kumar recently highlighted the role of the Trade Defence Wing in supporting Indian exporters in global markets and addressing challenges in a competitive trade environment.

Ongoing initiatives to simplify access to trade remedy mechanisms, particularly for MSMEs and fragmented industries, were also highlighted, enabling businesses of all scales to better utilise available safeguards and opportunities.
