I'm seeing a lot of hatred towards bhagavan Rama in the Tamilnadu social media grps after RRR movie, claiming that Ram worship isn't here and this is Periyar land blah blah ! I mean seriously, this ppl haven't read anything related to Tamil scriptures nor knew abt Tamil culture !
This is not some exaggeration pulled out of thin air. This "Your Gods were historic men/kings" is their 1800 year playbook to reduce immortal pagan gods to mere mortals. Its called Euhemerism.
They called pagan god Zeus as a historical king. King, but mortal, not even god in small letters. Now they are calling Kadavul Murugar as a Mupaatan/King of an evidence-less geographic place called Kumari Kandam. The more things change, the more they are the same.
Detailed essay by @maa_bhaishiiH in comments, for those interested in the history of this playbook.
One of the reasons it is always important to read and understand the primary sources is that relying solely on secondary sources often leads to factual errors and serious mistakes, like the one in the below post. Let us examine just a few of these errors; otherwise, listing them all would turn this into a full-length article.
First, the Tolkappiyam is a grammatical treatise, not a theological work intended to describe deities. Therefore, there is nothing surprising about the absence of a detailed description of Murugan. Also, the correct word is “Seyon” (சேயோன்), not “Ceyyon” (செய்யோன்). The word “Sey” means either “child” or “red,” both of which are traditional epithets of Murugan.
Also, Tolkappiyam doesn’t say a Kurinji landscape “belong” to Murugan. It just says that Murugan is the primary deity in Kurinji. It is important to note that other key Murugan shrines like Swamimalai (Marudham) and Tiruchendur (Neythal) are in other landscapes as well.
Coming to the Sangam corpus, it is incorrect to focus only on the Akananuru while ignoring the rest of the literature. The Purananuru clearly states that the peacock is Murugan’s vehicle (Purananuru 56). The rooster is not his mount; it is his banner (seval kodi).
The claim that the Thirumurugatrupadai was composed 500 years after the Akananuru merely repeats an outdated, agenda-driven narrative that sought to exclude devotional works from the Sangam corpus. The author of the Thirumurugatrupadai, Madurai Kanakkanayanar Makanar Nakkeerar, is also traditionally credited with 35 other Sangam poems, including Akananuru 17 and Purananuru 3. If the Thirumurugatrupadai were really composed five centuries later, one would have to explain how the same poet managed to live across 500 years.
Furthermore, other Sangam works such as the Pathitrupathu and the Paripadal provide vivid descriptions of Murugan’s iconography. These descriptions are entirely consistent with the representations of Murugan found on Yaudheya and Kushana coins, as well as in Gupta-period sculptures, demonstrating a remarkable continuity in his iconography across regions and centuries.
Krishna Bhakti and celebration of Janmashtami has deep roots in Tamilakam since ancient times. A potsherd excavated at the Kodumanal archaeological site bears the Tamil-Brahmi inscription “Kannan Adhan”. This find is dated to around the 2nd century BCE.
Kannan is one of the Tamil names of Sri Krishna, and this inscription stands as one of the earliest references to His name in Tamilakam, highlighting the antiquity of Krishna worship in the region.

jeetas need to understand that they ain't supposed to touch the gods, when arjun saw shri krishna he started crying & bow down to him & here these shernis treat gods as their boyfriend/friend/childhood buddy.
INDIANS will thrive to live better only under strict dictatorship.
Democracy will not Work...
Civic sense doesn’t come naturally it has to be enforced through heavy fines, public shaming, and visible punishments.
Then only can we expect cleaner streets.
Terrible to hear this. Especially when its such a young person. That said, the comments section under this post shows that the collective IQ of Indian social media user/ consumer is definitely negative and critical thinking skills among Indian Twitter users is eclipsed by terrifyingly deep sentiments towards anti-science stance and conspiracy theories.
Educate yourselves.
No. Vaccine does not cause sudden cardiac deaths in young men or women, or even in older adults in India.
See here - https://t.co/4SxSNJlx1h
No. Consuming whey protein does not cause sudden heart attacks and death in gym goers. In fact, highest quality of evidence shows that whey protein supplementation reduces cardiometabolic risk factors and has beneficial effects on cardiac health, including lowering blood pressure and improving lipid profiles.
See here - https://t.co/5yEm1ZR1Kt
Yes. Covid infection increased risk of hearts attacks and stroke in young individuals up to three years later especially when they were UNVACCINATED during the initial waves.
See here - https://t.co/HUcYM0ENv5
No. Creatine supplements do not cause sudden cardiac death. In fact creatine improves heart muscle function EVEN IN patients with a failing heart! Creatine supplementation is safe and offer benefits for cardiovascular health, particularly for individuals with heart failure or those recovering from heart attacks.

Yes. The most common cause of sudden cardiac death in young adults is still myocardial infarction or MI - meaning, a serious medical condition where blood flow to the heart muscle is abruptly blocked, causing damage or death to the heart tissue due to oxygen deprivation. The second most common cause is arrythmias (abrupt abnormal heart rate and rhythm) and cardiomyopathy (genetic disease that weakens the heart). All of this can be due to variety of reasons including genetic risk factors, strong family history of heart disease, use of tobacco and alcohol and certain drugs. None of which include vaccines, whey proteins, creatine or going to the gym.

Yes. Anabolic steroid use and stimulant drugs increase the risk of cardiac disease in body builders ALONG WITH additional risk factors that promote cardiac disease (genetics, family history, alcohol, smoking, history of certain infections). Of these, stanozolol has been implicated in heart attacks and testosterone supplementation too. Anabolic steroids like stanozolol increases risk of myocardial infarction while prolonged testosterone supplementation increases blood viscosity (it boosts haemoglobin) leading to thickening of blood and sluggish flow inside heart vessels leading to possible increase in blocks during highly strenuous activity.

Physical activity improves longevity.
Resistance training increases longevity.
Going to the gym and working out is perfectly fine.
That said, people can be "fit" even without looking "shredded" or "bulked."
But follow a fitness regimen that is natural and safe. Avoid anabolic steroids and stimulants and unnecessary hormone supplementation. Use whey and creatine in their recommended dose. Screen for family history of cardiac disease or sudden cardiac deaths. Perform a basic cardiovascular health check up before hitting high intensity training. Stay away from alcohol and tobacco. Update vaccination status for age. You'll be just fine.

Just wanted to make few things clear.
Many Twitter accounts are using the news report on "rare" side effect of blood clotting from the AstraZeneca (Covishield) vaccine as a "political tool." Most of these accounts are fully invested in political commentary and have suddenly shifted to using anti-vaxx sentiments to push their pro-political narratives.
Weaponizing known "unknowns" in scientific healthcare by health illiterates will only promote unnecessary anti-science sentiments among people and promote vaccine hesitancy (including for other major beneficial vaccines such as polio, diphtheria, mumps and measles etc.)
🤡STOP POLITICIZING MEDICAL SCIENCE🤡
Most of these accounts seem intelligent and logical, but are still science illiterates with poor scientific temperament and poor understanding of virology, immunology, vaccination benefits and disease burden reduction.
The clotting side effect of AZ vaccine is already known and is extremely rare: Incidence of is ~4 per million. Here is a link to the recommended workup which was already in place years ago. This is not new information. https://t.co/DjHj3JhBuV
In comparison, risk of clotting events with severe Covid infection ranges from 5% to 25% as per multiple studies, which is exponentially larger than due to the vaccine.
This paper shows how weaponizing rare adverse events with higher benefits to risk vaccination resulted in vaccine hesitancy and more harms within the society.
AstraZeneca Vaccine Controversies in the Media: Theorizing About the 'Mediatization' of Ignorance in the Context of the COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign
https://t.co/rRqGhkCpJN
Also as the media claims here, it is not that first time AstraZeneca admits risk of clotting events (again rarest side effect) associated with Covid.
It’s in their packaging insert: https://t.co/a82GOH18lP
There is NO CLINICALLY VALIDATED data to showcase young people died of cardiac events due to Covid vaccinations. This is old anti-vaxx garbage peddled by the anti-science community.
No link between Covid vaccines used in India and heart attack risk
https://t.co/jsVJteT3ks
You want to talk about risks? Then talk about risk of lightning strikes and car accidents, alcohol and tobacco and insect bites and bee stings and such related deaths, which are MUCH MORE than what is expected from vaccination related risks.
Grow up people.
Ethical questions ignored here:
Would the Indian whose organ was harvested for this have agreed to the choice of recipient? Should donors have more power of choice? How did a Pakistani bypass the long waiting line of Indians? Does the recipient society reciprocate such humanity?
CAA for dummies:
1. It has nothing to do with Indians.
2. It grants citizenship to persecuted religious minorities of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
3. It excludes Muslims because they can't be religiously persecuted in a Muslim-majority country.
4. If you argue that Sunnis can prosecute Shias and Ahmadis, then: (a) that's not religious prosecution but sect prosecution. (b) The Shia and Ahmadiyya population of Pakistan and Bangladesh supported the partition of India. It's not the Indian state's moral obligation to protect them, but the religious minorities of these countries (Hindus, Sikhs, Baudh, etc) were assured by Pakistan's founding rulers that they wouldn't be harassed, but they did the opposite. It's India's moral obligation to safeguard them, considering the partition was religion-based. (c) There are nearly 40 Islamic nations, 100+ woke countries, and UN agencies. Prosecuted Muslims of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan can approach them.
My dad, who is a moderate Muslim, finally expressed his concern and asked me, 'Why are you supporting this genocide?'
He mentioned that he's stopped looking at his phone because he can no longer bear to watch videos of Palestinian children being bombed by Israel.
I replied, 'I empathize with the suffering, and it's not easy for me either.'
Then I showed him a photo, and we both agreed on the gravity of the situation in Palestine.
I then informed him that the photo was actually of a Yemeni child pulled from the rubble resulting from a Saudi bombing in Yemen.
I pointed out that Israel has allegedly killed 7,000 Palestinians, while the Saudis have killed at least 150,000 Yemeni Muslims. Some estimates suggest upto 300,000.
How can we call the current conflict a 'genocide' when what the Saudis did is hardly even discussed by Muslims? Don’t get me started on 200,000 Muslims killed by Bashar Al Asad in Syria.
He responded that if that's the case, he also disagrees with what the Saudis did. I replied, 'How convenient. Nearly half a MILLION fellow Muslims have been killed by other Muslims, and you didn't even know about it. Yet when Israel retaliates against a terrorist organization that has killed, raped, and maimed 1,500 of its citizens, the whole Muslim world reacts?'
It seems to have less to do with preserving Muslim lives and more to do with a religious fantasy of hostility toward Jews.
Fu*king Dhimmi. Try opening a business in that area and see what happens. Take out a Religious Procession like they do, see what happens. Try proselytizing. Try marrying a woman from that community. Try buying land there and not having it officially or unofficially encroached.
Passing off Impotence as Tolerance and Pluralism.
There is No Hindu-Muslim Rioting or Clash in Malappuram for the same reason there are no such clashes in Pakistan. Total Domination of One Group. If a Hindu responded even mildly to violence, consequences would be dire.
Remember Biraadars, IQ is Secondary. It is Courage that is Fundamental to Civilisation. Triple Digit IQ Coward will just end up acquiring resources for others.
Satyam Vada, Dharmam Chara.
Historically ? Really ? Right from the Sangam texts which are more than 2500 years old, the South especially Tamil Nadu was culturally integrated with the rest of Bharath. For example, Sangam text Purananooru (6) says
The country's norther border is the snow clad mountains, the southern border is (kanya) Kumari, eastern & western sides are filled with Sea. This is one of the oldest verse of Purananooru. So please.....
Hello there. I do not want to scare you, but here is something terrifyingly cool that you should know about.
But first, we all know that vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants are all important for our health right? And we get exactly that what is required, in the right amounts from our daily diet.
But there is this [false] understanding among people, patients and some doctors that popping multivitamin supplements daily prevents diseases, improves immunity and well-being.
Which supplements are you on now? I'll tell you the common ones - Vitamin C (everyone takes extra), zinc and vitamin B complex! I am not on any by the way.
But hear me out. There is a fantastically terrifying paper published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation (oh it is a kickass journal by the way).
Its too basic and too complicated.
But I'll tell you what it says.
In simple terms: Taking vitamins or dietary supplements could be feeding tumors and promote their growth, scientists warn.
The study, conducted by a team of clinical researchers at the Karolinska Institute, concluded that vitamin C and other antioxidants can promote the formation of new blood vessels - A MAJOR STEP IN DEVELOPMENT OF CANCERS. Yes. And they quite convincingly show the example of lung cancer.
Common antioxidants, such as vitamins A, C, selenium, and zinc, can stimulate the growth of blood vessels in cancer when taken in excess.
You know what excess means right? That is you are popping multivits just like that without any actual documented deficiency of vitamins/minerals and in the absence of clinical symptoms and signs of deficiency that are specific for vitamins and minerals.
They found that antioxidants activate a mechanism within cells that causes cancer tumors to form new blood vessels.
THERE IS NO NEED TO FEAR ANTIOXIDANTS IN NORMAL FOOD - excessive intake of antioxidants/vitamins in the form of supplements in apparantly healthy individuals is the problem.
The Problem:
The research team found that antioxidants in their recommended and required amounts, reduce the levels of free oxygen radicals. BUT when extra amounts are introduced (as in consumption of supplements), the drop in free radicals activates a protein called BACH1.
Now BACH1 is bad. It promotes the formation of new blood vessels, a process known as angiogenesis - which is central to development and growth of tumors/cancers.
Now that we have a really scary but cool explanation of how use of vitamins/dietary supplements and antioxidants can promote development of, or progression of tumors, we can go back to this really cool, large observational study that already showed that long term use of multivitamin supplements can lead to development of different types of cancers.
Read: Multivitamin Use and Overall and Site-Specific Cancer Risks in the National Institutes of Health–AARP Diet and Health Study.

So what will it be?
Will you ditch your supplements or will you take your chances?

Today is the birthday of the fearless warrior Puli Thevar who was the first one to revolt against the British from Tamilagam. The chieftain of Nerkattanseval was successful in the initial battles against the British army. Despite the efforts of Yusuf Khan (Marudha Nayakam), British couldn’t succeed in defeating him. He disappeared into one of the rooms in the Sankarankoil temple and that is a mystery till date.
