The Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway is a national infrastructure project, not a personal legacy project. Renaming it after a sitting President is unnecessary and diminishes its identity as a landmark that belongs to every Nigerian.
If future generations choose to honour President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for initiating or completing the project, that decision can be made in due course. For now, the highway original name should remain unchanged. National infrastructure should be remembered for the people it serves, not become a tool for political glorification.
