I reported these "off the grid" discharges to the EA back in November 22. I have heard nothing since, they are all on a stream in that is a tributary of the River Calder. They might all be rainwater, they might not.
Section 82 still needs some work in my opinion. As a water quality monitor evangelist it is an interesting time to be working. Sensors and the data they generate are going to be vital to cleaning up our rivers.
In Parliament today, I challenged the Environment Minister to stop the scandal of water companies discharging sewage into Britain's waterways, including here in Cumbria.
Conservative MPs tried to shout me down, but I won't let them stop me standing up for our lakes and rivers.
Let's get this message out as wide and far as possible. There is a lot of misunderstanding of the situation amongst the public and there's misunderstanding of some of the technical challenges especially aroiund monitoring water quality
