As an ObGyn redeployed emergently to the ICU today, I was quite grateful for @jessica_bunin and her very fine youtube talks for non-intensivists. Keep up the good work! #COVID19Pandemic#HealthCareWorkers
NEW: If efforts by anti-abortion politicians to exploit #COVID19 and shut down providers succeed, it would result in massive increases in driving distance for patients. Read our analysis for 6 states, including Texas ⬇️ https://t.co/TMCHAFykf5 #AbortionIsEssential
My social media feed is weird combo of 1) healthcare providers talking about mask shortages/filling the ICUs/powering through work and 2) friends earnestly offering suggestions for best online yoga classes #healthcareworker#Covid_19
Glad to be able to contribute to growing discussion on a timely and crucial topic--fair health care allocation in the Covid-19 pandemic--alongside Zeke Emanuel & @DrPhillipsMD: https://t.co/vQbP1Dz742. A quick summary of our recommendations (mini thread)
More #covid patients this week for us, including a pregnant one. But #abortionishealthcare, non-elective, and I'm grateful to work in a place that recognizes that. Continuing to be a pandemic provider here!
Conversely, it's very frustrating for colleagues working in profit-oriented hospitals that delayed in cancelling non-urgent surgeries or visits, because of cash flow concerns. #COVID2019 is going to show the US healthcare system for the inequitable system it is. #HealthCareForAll
The lesson of the last few days? It's much easier to prepare for #covid if you don't care about making money. Our hospital has always served low-income populations, so we're used to prioritizing patient care above income (and we have support to do it. Thanks, @NYCMayor
Last week felt crazy - we went from business as usual on Monday to having a FEMA-style testing tent in the park next to us by Friday. This week is actually easier - we're all committed to the idea that the old system is on hold and #covid needs to dominate plans.
I'm working in a large NYC public hospital, which has special provisions as a trauma center and a program for "special pathogens" ever since Ebola. Talking to friends in other healthcare institutions, I think we're ahead of the curve in the US, but probably still need to do more.
I realize that a lot of what I'm seeing in social media isn't coming from US healthcare providers actually working with patients. Going to try to change this. Dispatches from the front lines, en route. #COVID19#publichealth

Is this where we start a viral misinformation campaign saying that eating pangolins because you think they're Viagra gives you coronavirus?! #savepangolinsthroughfear

Great explanation of what's coming this year with June Medical Services v. Gee in SCOTUS. No matter how you feel about abortion, it's hard to imagine anyone thinks TRAP laws and re-trying identical court cases is the best way to govern. #ACLU#reproductivejustice
The upcoming Supreme Court case June Medical Services v. Gee could significantly undermine Roe v. Wade.
If anti-abortion politicians get their way, they could force abortion clinics to close and push legal and safe abortion out of reach.
C-section rates over time, with the introduction of fetal heart monitoring and vaginal births after C-sections highlighted. What the heck is going on here #maternalmorbidity

Go on and make us proud, #Georgia. #staceyabrams
A maternal-health crisis in Georgia—and Stacey Abrams's prescription for it—could make the difference in the governor's race: https://t.co/bmwztuHTxm
