We wept bitterly putting this together...
Charlie Kirk did not fear death. Charlie told us what his legacy would be. Charlie's greatest passion was his faith in Jesus Christ.
Just hours before he was assassinated, Charlie stood on stage, openly proclaiming his love for Jesus Christ. Unafraid, unwavering, and full of conviction. He lived every moment guided by that faith, and in the end, he was taken home by his Savior.
Charlie is a true Christian martyr.
His example is not just inspiring, it is a call to all of us. To stand firm in our beliefs, to shine light into darkness, speak truth and to live boldly in our faith. Charlie showed us what it means to live, and die, with purpose.
This is the legacy he leaves...
@DStarmanHockey *Very* disappointed to hear this. Always looked forward to the Sioux games you & Alex were covering. You two are the best out there and it’s not even close. Hope this is just a one season hiatus and the powers that be will come to their senses!
@NODAKHockeyNews …. but only if we win them. Losing against the lower teams really hurts. Never forget that Canisius swept us in the 2018-2019 season & that alone kept us out of the NCAA regionals!
@Gausmus47 Lots of family/friend time & travel is planned around Sioux hockey…. so beyond just the fun of winning there is the lost opportunity for more good times with people we care about, which may be playing into some of the anger & upset out there (whether people realize it or not)
@Gausmus47 We were in Tampa - by far the highlight of our many, many trips for Sioux hockey! That said, I’d take more tourney wins (& appearances). Since 2016 a Scheels regional 2.5 miles from my house FIVE times, but only 1 win & missed out completely 3 times. Major fan enthusiasm killer.
@Gausmus47 Our son was 8 years old…. he remembers a little. Wish so much we could be making memories watching our Sioux together this weekend since he’s 16 now with one foot out the door!
@LarsenSean@SchlossmanGF This question sticks out to me as well. Overall number of injuries & total games missed for injuries this year was impressive. We lost top defenseman to injury in recent years. Are UND’s recent injury stats worse than other teams, and if yes - why (and how to fix this)?
@SchlossmanGF When was the last time we won a playoff game or a game against a ranked team in green jerseys? The green jersey winning percentage has to be the lowest, correct?
@timothyboger 💯 - And spoiled with The Ralph! In Chicago at the United Center tonight for the Blackhawks; really missed those wide comfy leather chairs with cupholders and actual leg room!
@SchlossmanGF Amazing article - thank you for sharing that again! It was just as good 7 yrs later! 💚 Our kids were 7 & 4 then, and I remember watching Hak & the Flyers play while we made the kids nap at the hotel in Tampa before the game. We hooted when he said, “Go Sioux!” on the air! 🤣
@SchlossmanGF That was an entertaining game to watch! Every time the Sens announcers talked about Tyler (and it was a LOT! 💚) I kind of squealed, and drove my 14 y/o son nuts! 🤣
@Gausmus47 Curious to see % of Gopher fans @ Amalie Arena. I may be wrong, but guessing it won’t rival us UND fans from 2016! 💚 (Photo of #20 & our son - now 9th grade & 6’2”!)
@AHeinertMidco @MidcoSports Love watching games in The Ralph, but I don’t mind a bit watching from home when you and @JakeBrandt30 are broadcasting! You guys always make me smile. 😄 Thanks for another great year!
Thank you @SCHEELS and your awesome employee Jake Jenson (Fargo, ND store) for outfitting me *literally* from head to toe (Carhartt hat, Maui Jim sunglasses, Patagonia vest & full-zip, Nike sweatpants & socks, and New Balance shoes) for Antarctica! #Antarctica#bucketlist
