The lady at the charity shop today told me that she wishes people would clear out their children's old toys in the lead up to Christmas rather than after because she always sees a number of parents in the days before Christmas looking for toys for their little ones who might be strapped for cash. She said there's very rarely anything in just before, but that they get inundated with toys in the days after.
And it really made me think about it in a way I never would have before.
If you know your child is going to get lots of presents from Father Christmas this year, by clearing out your cupboards a few days early, you could make another child's Christmas a lot more special too.
Saw this & thought I'd repost.
Today, repair guys masked when I asked. Yesterday, a taxi driver offered to when he saw me.
Healthcare staff? They refuse.
Service workers understand that keeping people comfortable is good for business.
Healthcare staff act like it’s about power, not care.

🚨Update: PM Q’d Partners as to how they could book NP instead of a GP-was advised all GPsessions can be *directly* replaced by an ANP, pharmacist etc. Supervision not required.
Apparently practice has “permission” for this 🤷🏽♂️ ICB? NHSE?
What an absolute disgrace for BSol pts.
The review ignores the core issue: PAs lack the training doctors have.
Cosmetic fixes like renaming and badges won’t ensure safety. Supervision is overstated and often impractical.
Rushing PA expansion risks patient trust and care quality—this review fails to protect patients.
In what circumstance would anyone ever recommend their friend or family see a PA when they’re doing the job of a doctor??
The fact anyone feels entitled to even ask this question in unhinged!!

Great News. Regulator General Flying Council has announced that Pilot Associates (PAs) don't need any formal flying or theory assessments to do same thing as Pilots. These are just a burden for those whiney lower paid Pilots.
PAs are far less medically qualified (if at all) than F1s.
Trusts, HEE, and GMC restrict what F1s can do to well below their level of education, for patient safety.
Yet GMC and NHSE allow PAs to have a scope of practice well above their competence.
Is this safe?

Just in case anyone has forgotten, Emily Chesterton died as a consequence of inadequate care by a PA, enabled by the stupidity and lack of moral courage of the GMC.
If you're wondering why so many right wing accounts on here are posting hateful things about the late Pope, the reason is simple: he told them that they should care about other people.
Pope Francis was the rare leader who made us want to be better people. In his humility and his gestures at once simple and profound – embracing the sick, ministering to the homeless, washing the feet of young prisoners – he shook us out of our complacency and reminded us that we are all bound by moral obligations to God and one another.
Today, Michelle and I mourn with everyone around the world – Catholic and non-Catholic alike – who drew strength and inspiration from the Pope’s example. May we continue to heed his call to “never remain on the sidelines of this march of living hope.”
Nine months ago, the NHS was at breaking point.
The turnaround under Labour has been remarkable – and barely anyone’s talking about it.
5 seriously impressive stats:
OMG I just asked my 11 YEAR OLD CHILD
to answer these 7 example questions on a PA university entry course:
He got EVERY single one correct
THIS is the level they expect & draw equivalence to a doctor’s medical degree?!
Sorry but this is abysmal
PAs need limits & scope - now
