Have a potential extra work opportunity.
Just did the math and my tax rate will be 67.5% lol. What exactly is the point in taking on additional work here?
@LewisStanding1@Imran_HussainMP But you talk like these are mutually exclusive events - drilling or wind farms. Why not both - we are needing gas for at least another 25 years. 85% homes use gas for heating with the shift from FF heating not until 2035 ban on new boilers, add another 15 years life expectancy.
@LewisStanding1@Imran_HussainMP I dount youd think that if you were one of the 250 relatively high earners whose jobs this involves.
But what is your ideological stance against drilling in North Sea of you admit we will need to import gas?
@LewisStanding1@Imran_HussainMP "The developer estimates that Jackdaw will create 27 new direct jobs and safeguard 273 existing jobs that would otherwise beโฏlost. The developer also estimates that the project will add around ยฃ2.9 billion to the UK economy"

@LewisStanding1@Imran_HussainMP We still have better access to this supply than another countries - why import when we can extract in our own waters, provide jobs to our citizens? I know we will still need to import but any move towards energy security is a good thing in my mind - what are the downsides?
@Chris_Mench There is a cleaning fee.
It is a business rental property not someones home.
I will take out bins and wash dishes, but I wont be stripping beds and if I left the dishes I would expect it to be part of the cleaning fee.
Its a hotel alternative, often similarly priced.
@Padraiccleary@Imran_HussainMP Im very much pro the decarbonisation agenda btw - I just don't understand these ideologues that admit we will need gas for years, but dont want to use our own.
@Padraiccleary@Imran_HussainMP Its just mad to me - about 85% heating is gas, that isnt changing in the next quarter of a century from mid 30s.its expected no more fossil fuel boilers - with a life expectancy 10 to 15 years - its about 2050 when uk wont be gas reliant.
@Imran_HussainMP change much, having energy security and gas available is surely important. If we arent likely to have enough renewables until mid 2030 and gas boilers likely to be in use until 2050 - why is drilling an issue? Why would we continue to import when we have our own supply?
@Imran_HussainMP Im sick of this shit - our renewable energy forecast to no longer be at the mercy of gas is estimated mid 30s - lets say in 10 years. Even then gas is around 80% plus of heating homes - this isnt going to change in the next 20 years. Even if the wholesale price of gas will not
