#ResearchTuesday Hot off the Press! New SVIN consensus guidelines on bilateral inferior petrosal sinus sampling (BIPSS) for #Cushings disease, Essential reading for any practicing neurointerventionalist & endocrinologist.

BIPSS is the gold standard when MRI is normal/equivocal or adenoma <6 mm. Diagnostic cutoffs: ACTH IPS:P ≥2 pre-stim or ≥3 post-stim. PRL IPS:P ≥1.8 validates catheter placement. PRL-normalized ACTH rescues false negatives (sensitivity 90% → 96%). CRH & desmopressin show comparable accuracy.
