The #Adwumawura Programme has officially launched! Today, at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi, the Ministry of Youth Development & Empowerment and the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP) welcomed HE John Dramani Mahama to launch this trailblazing initiative. The Adwumawura programme is set to empower over 10,000 young Ghanaians, each year, with the resources and funding they need to successfully start or grow their businesses. This programme is just one of many visionary strategies designed to unlock the potential of our youth, providing them with essential support and financial backing. The excitement in the hall said it all; Ghanaian youth are eager and ready to seize the opportunities offered by the Adwumawura programme and other impactful youth policies from this administration. The switch is done!

Resetting of Ghana’s passport administration is fully completed.

We have successfully:

1) Switched to Chip-Embedded Passports and carried out the first ever mass rollout;

2) Commenced 24-Hour Operations;

3) Started direct passport delivery at your convenience through courier with Ghana Post as our lead partner;

4) Initiated an e-Tracking System;

5) Guaranteed passport delivery not exceeding 15 days;

6) Reduced Application Fees as approved by Cabinet (from GHS500 to GHS350) — will take effect when Parliament returns from recess and amends the Fees and Charges Act.

7) Demonstrated that chip-embedded passports can be acquired in a day.

With these reforms we aim to totally eliminate the phenomenon of “goro boys” who exploit unnecessary delays and also end the era of uncollected passports due to red tape and frustration.

Let’s make Ghana work again.
