@Peston The problem goes beyond January. It was glaringly obvious that Johnson wasn’t competent to hold the position of PM. You & practically every other journalist refused to draw out his character flaws and previous poor performance in public office during the GE campaign. Now look!

The slavish press all happily going with the @BorisJohnson ready to ‘take back control’ of crisis response. 1. He never had control of it because he was absent without leave. 2. I’m not sure the Brexit campaign resonances are quite what the country needs right now.
