little bitta background on our shocking lack of laws against lying in political advertising:
Should a provision to establish minimum standards of truth in political advertising be introduced… https://t.co/lAJcNzjhkk
not the Libs lying once again in their electoral material!! 😦😦
Little fun fact: SA is amongst the only jurisdiction where LYING on electoral material is not allowed.
There’s no laws against false statements being made by political parties in Federal elections 🫠🫠🫠
The Electoral Commissioner has determined that electoral material published on the SA Liberal Media X page contains the following statement purporting to be a statement of fact that is inaccurate and misleading to a material extent and in breach of section 113 of the Electoral Act 1985:
“Despite promising no new taxes or tax increases, Peter Malinauskas is set to introduce a new GP Patient Tax…”.
I withdraw the above statement and advise that SA Labor have not introduced a new GP patient tax.
@derridalicious @StrivingAlly Or if you’re getting it because you’ve got a GP request form, we’ll fill out different paperwork. It may be stressful to be questioned when you’re feeling sick, but we really just ask so we can do things right!
@derridalicious @StrivingAlly There are also slightly different procedures and things that need to be done by the pathology collectors at different points, based on the reason you’re getting tested. IE. if you’re RAT Positive and getting a confirmatory PCR test, your swab may be placed into a diff category
@derridalicious You’re being asked why you’re getting tested for record keeping purposes. It’s not that big of a deal. Every single person is supposed to be asked what their reason is for getting a test.
Welcome to our annual #FlindersInvestigator Lecture with Prof Karoly and speakers @LongJohnfossil, @cassandra_star & @DohaKhann! Stay tuned for key thoughts on #ClimateChange managing the unavoidable, avoiding the unmanageable.
Heating bills this winter are the highest they've been in five years, but apparently we have a plan to combat rising bills.
It's called global warming.
The changes to the electoral system announced by the government are disgraceful! A thinly disguised attempt to undermine the effectiveness of opposition, particularly from minor parties. Shameful day for democracy when the government feels emboldened to introduce such legislation
Optional Preferential Voting is an obvious & blatant attempt by @Marshall_Steven to stack the deck in his favour at the next election.
Our voting system has been in place for decades. The Premier should have had the courage to announce this at the last election, he didn’t.
With his actions, @TobyThorpeAus from @youthtopiaworld proves that it doesn't take much to change the 🌎.

i can’t believe hundreds of cops are defending a crimial who killed an innocent soul. they should’ve used this manpower to protect Floyd instead of defending a murder, this is absolutely disgusting #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd#BlackLivesMatter
