Immense planning and technical precision was required for this absolutely preposterous (but real) view: I captured my friend @BlackGryph0n transiting the sun during a skydive.
This might be the first photo of it's kind in existence. See a video of this moment in the reply 👇
My goal was to donate $10k to the shelter I adopted Gregory from. Thanks to you, I think I might have a shot at reaching it. Thank you so much for all your calendar preorders, they're making us very happy!
Here's March's image, Gregory sunbathing. Preorder link is in my bio!
Just. Wow. As we went over Mexico and the U.S. this morning, I caught this sprite.
Sprites are TLEs or Transient Luminous Events, that happen above the clouds and are triggered by intense electrical activity in the thunderstorms below. We have a great view above the clouds, so scientists can use these types of pictures to better understand the formation, characteristics, and relationship of TLEs to thunderstorms.

Falcon 9 boostback burn and second stage plume interaction as Dragon and Ax-4 head toward the International Space Station during this morning’s 2:31am ET launch
Caught a fish! Hope you enjoy this round of space fishing for beautiful auroras. If you’re wondering what the reflections in the lower left are, I made a rookie mistake of not having the shroud completely cover the window so you can see some crew activity (the cupola is located adjacent to one of our exercise devices).

⛈️ The storm I witnessed yesterday near Clarendon, Texas, is hands down one of the most incredible ones I’ve ever seen! Those bright blue bands were so vibrant. I haven’t seen such bright blue banding like that since a hail storm in Iowa in 2022.
The blue hues are caused by the scattering of sunlight by ice crystals and water droplets high in the storm clouds, especially during the “golden hour” when the sun’s angle enhances those vibrant colors. I’d trade nearly any tornado I’ve seen in the past two years for this—honestly, I could care less about tornadoes. I just want to see the coolest or most interesting thing out there.
I wish I had more time to stand under this thing.

My first time-lapse. Thanks to some instruction and tips from @Astro_Ayers, I caught my first aurora. After seeing the result, I told her this felt like fishing. Prepping the camera, the angle, the settings, the mount, then setting your timer and coming back to hope you got a catch. And after catching my first fish, I think I’m hooked. Thanks, Vapor!
Beautiful auroras passing over southeastern Asia and Australia.
Three months ago today, our team of Fireflies made history as the 1st commercial company to successfully land on the Moon! Watch #BlueGhost descend from four different camera angles and relive that incredible moment when we softly touched down on the lunar surface.
Auroras from space always draw crewmembers to the Cupola. I love how this one illuminated our Dragon, and I also love the dance of satellites on the left in the latter part of the video. It’s interesting how the aurora creeps along the top of the atmosphere as it comes up over the horizon. I have added traveling to see auroras from Earth to my bucket list!
