Nigeria is such a funny country.

A lender gave someone 11 million naira loan to pay back 12 million naira back in one month.

Collateral was the borrower’s car.

Borrower couldn’t pay back the following month, but the guarantor paid the interest for that month which is 1 million naira, which means the principal is still outstanding.

First month passed
Second month passed
Third month passed.

Lender now collected the collateral, which is the borrower’s car. The original papers of the car were given to him as at the time the loan was disbursed.

Guess what the borrower did?

She went to the police, and told them her car was stolen. They arrested this guy (lender), charged him to court, and sent him to prison, even after he submitted all the evidence and agreements they had.

Apparently, the woman knows people up there and she has successfully weaponised the police and judicial system to her favor. Someone who lent out money is now the one going to prison.

The lender is out of prison now and has taken the case to VDM, since he cannot get justice from the police and judiciary.

Humour me please, is it that the woman wants to chop the 11 million naira or how?
