@aggieben@KimiGoatanelli When it’s 28 degrees outside, no breeze and 60% humidity. What do you think that feels like inside a south facing brick oven with enormous bay windows? We walk everywhere & public transport does not have ac. I would’ve felt the same had I not moved here and experienced it.
@Sacrificed_Lamb@soulstyce_@aggieben@KimiGoatanelli Yes, I know. I have one. The point remains that the infrastructure of the buildings here do not retain the cold. So unless it’s running 24/7 or I’m sitting directly in front of it, it’s not really a solution. Idk why this is so controversial lol
@plznoban1337@aggieben@KimiGoatanelli I have an AC unit. I’m American lol. However, i notice the difference between using it here vs my home in NY. It takes much longer to cool down and the room doesn’t retain any of the cold once it’s turned off or on eco mode. These house were built to be ovens essentially.
@aggieben@KimiGoatanelli Yes, exactly. We don’t have air conditioning in the UK in like 90% of buildings.. both private houses and commercial. Buildings were made to retain heat, so you just can’t get reprieve from it.
@EJon5992@Charlot66862571@rebekkarnold why are people not in a position to look after themselves financially? is it maybe because salaries are shit yet basic costs continue to rise? you're blaming the wrong people.
@GaryWashbourne@Mark_Browns i imagine people will pay the higher prices as the goods will still be cheaper than American made, but overall, people will become poorer.
@TravisTheVet @grebetrees@burntbulb @M0rallyBankrup7 @agraybee@putitang69@richdecamp Most people don’t carry their IDs all the time. What if you’re grabbed by ICE while walking your dogs? How are you proving your a citizen?
