Comedy palate cleanser. Robert Jenrick about to grandstand but reminded of his defection from one party to another this year is gold. The timing. First line great. Second line superb but crowd not recovered from the first to fully appreciate it 😊
"Trump, the Mar-a-Lago golfer, is the only bull in the world who walks around with his own china shop. When a clown takes over the Palace, he doesn't become King. It's the Palace that becomes a circus"
French senator Claude Malhuret once again nails it. You won't hear a better indictment of Trump and his Gulf war than this. Well worth 5 minutes of your time

“There were clusters of particular body parts being injured on particular days.”
Dr. Nick Maynard who worked at a hospital in Gaza shared the horrific details of a group of teenage boys being shot in the testicles, as part of what seemed like a cruel pattern of Israeli soldiers.
@SaraSK_FP@swilkinsonbc and they were torturing, starving and raping Palestinians, including children, in Israeli prisons before Oct.'23 https://t.co/BY6TLz22ia
@Miss_Snuffy You seem to have some deep-seated prejudices about people who may have mental health problems or are neurodiverse, which might be the case with this person. It concerns me that your harsh and ignorant attitude may feed into the culture of the school you run
Brexit has been a resounding success!
For starters it's been absolutely amazing for UK's competitors who've all enjoyed a massive uplift in improved competitiveness against their British counterparts. Many UK competitors have completely withdrawn from export markets. The pool of talent has increased exponentially as UK has become very unattractive to the brightest and best in every sector. There's been a huge influx of new investment away from the UK to other European countries with Ireland, France, Netherlands notable winners.
UK's defensive frailties have increased thus weakening its influence in Europe and across the globe which has been a tremendous benefit to Russia, China & many other nations.
There's been a steady brain drain as best & brightest seek better opportunities outside of UK.
The State has got smaller. Inward investment has shrunk. Tax receipts have declined. Productivity has got considerably worse.
Those industries that still operate in UK find life so much easier. They can pollute at will thus saving millions for their shareholders & C-Suite.
UK can promote corporate governance with EU busting Special Economic Zones & Freeport's.
There's been a sizeable increase in corruption, sleaze, & poverty. Food banks have grown rapidly as has the disabled.
Taxes are at all time high and yet everything is falling apart.
All the major political parties look the same, talk the same, sound the same and completely ignore the electorate once in power.
Consumer & worker protections have been eroded or dismantled. The wealthy decide policy and there's now no recourse to EU courts so the rich can get away anything.
Of course for regular Brits leaving the EU has an unmitigated disaster. But for everyone else it's been a resounding success.
One of my favourite parts of @dylanwiliam 's work is his explanation of why written comments are "true but useless".
Vague comments like "be more systematic" might be true, but they aren't useful.
We are using these insights to develop our new AI feedback feature.… https://t.co/NFuYLBSFqe
My new book, Primary Reading Simplified, is released this Monday (27th January).
Briefly, I'd like to explain why it exists, who I think will find it useful and where you can find it.

This scene from Valencia's October 29 disaster is beyond a movie.
A man hanging on the wall is on the edge of the flood. A car pushed by the current is going to crush him. From the first floor someone throws a blanket. He climbs to safety.
