If you paid $1 In federal income taxes, you paid more in taxes than:
AT&T in 2021
Tesla in 2021
Amazon in 2017-2018
Nike in 2020
FedEx in 2020
Dish Network in 2020
Elon Musk in 2018
Jeff Bezos in 2007 & 2011
Carl Icahn in 2016-2017
Yes. It’s time to tax the rich.
Marijuana should be legal nationwide. All marijuana convictions must be expunged. It is absurd that the federal government considers marijuana to be as dangerous as heroin.
Take a look around the economy today.
McDonald's: profits up 59%. They're raising prices.
Starbucks: record profits. They're raising prices.
Amazon: record profits. Shock of shocks! They're raising prices!
Maybe — just maybe — we've got a corporate greed problem.
I can’t stop thinking about how we incarcerate more than any other country while claiming we can’t afford to give basic care, educational opportunities, housing / proper nutrition safety, and medical care for kids and families.
This is so backwards.
You should invest in people.
I want you stop scrolling for just a moment. Take one second and pause.
Jeff Bezos made $3,715 in just ONE second — that's more than the median full-time worker in this country earns in an entire week.
Please do not tell me he cannot afford to pay his fair share of taxes.
The problem is not the dude who got a $1,400 check 7 months ago and a 75 cent raise at Arby's. The problem is 745 billionaires who became $2,000,000,000,000 during the pandemic while over half of U.S. workers still live paycheck to paycheck.
Dick's burgers in Seattle just upped its minimum wage to $19. It gives workers free health care, 3 weeks paid vacation, 50% 401(k) match and $9,000 for tuition/childcare.
Its basic burger costs $1.80.
But I was told that paying people a living wage would make burgers cost $20?
Jeff Bezos makes some $2,537 every second of the day.
Got that? That means Jeff Bezos — the richest guy on the face of planet — makes nearly 3x more in one second than the median worker in this country makes in an entire week. That is morally obscene.
Tax the billionaires.
