Two Soviet soldiers reunited in 1983, decades after the Second World War. These men fought side by side at Stalingrad, the bloodiest battle in human history. They saw the worst of the battle. Their platoon was assigned the defense of a strategic building in Stalingrad dubbed “Pavlov’s House”.

They took their position on September 27th, 1942 with a force of about 40 men. They fought together in desperation against a nearly overwhelming German force. They were finally relieved of their position on November 25th, 1942, after nearly two months of holding the position; only 4 out of the original 40 had survived the siege.
