Food equity is serious business in NYC. Every day, hundreds of pounds of food from corporate kitchens, events, and cafeterias are at risk of being wasted. We coordinate with these places to donate this food to feeding programs across the city. Together, we can #DoMoreThanWaste🤝
ICYMI: Yesterday, we were able to symbolically ring the closing bell of the @NYSE🙌 We are happy to be able to partner with a larger than life NYC icon and share our #FoodRescue mission on their platform!
Thank you to the @NYSE for ringing the closing bell in our honor today! We appreciate one of New York City’s biggest icons recognizing us and highlighting our #FoodRescue work on their platform🤝

@yrislives @NYSHumanRights@NYCMayor@nycHealthy@NYCDHS@nytpolitics Can we share this? We redistribute extra untouched prepared food from hotels, corporate cafeterias & events to local feeding programs every day. These photos are very powerful, more people need to see them.

@tummler10 Hi! Many NYC shelters DO accept non perishable food items for their soup kitchen/hot meals programs. We’ve brought over 350,000 pounds of prepared food in the last few months
Since 2014, Kelsea’s organization, @SolveHungerNow, has donated 220,000 lbs of rescued food, approximately 183,333 meals, to 10 soup kitchens in #NYC and partnered with over 60 corporations to donate rescued food. @StopHungerUSA https://t.co/dw2iSJizTT #BoostTheYouth#StopHunger
In 2014, Hannah Dehradunwala and Samir Goel @Samir077 founded Transfernation (@solvehungernow) to redistribute untouched food from corporate events to food programs in need. This was one of the first (of many) stories that covered their journey back then: https://t.co/UzMlkNb49v

One of my favorite things about being a council member of @NationSwell is the focus on solutions and always leaving a convo with a call to action.
This group never settles for complaining - it is always about how we tackle the toughest problems head on. #NationSwellSummitWest
