I don’t buy that Finn Russell is that guy. He is talented, however whenever it’s the big moments then looks bang average. For all the hype, he never took Scotland to a six nations title. Doesn’t look like it’s going to happen today either. I hope I’m wrong. #IREvsSCO
@JacquesMaree73 Excited to see how he goes. He just be need careful to hit those hard flat lines against these boys. If he does, good luck. Other than that, let’s go !
@PlanetRugby In the coloured/black communities the AB’s have always had a special place. Die hard fans won’t just change because the Boks have far more people of colour in the team. Such is life. To each his own, so let’s enjoy the greatest rivalry.
Mchunu did not look good against Scotland and looked gassed. It was always going to be on him to play himself into that squad, basically like zach did. Venter layed a good solid base, so Mchunu had to outdo that and unfortunately I don’t think he did.
Since the Bok squad has been announced, I see a lot has been said about the 3 players that has been released. I think Embrose Papier was decent vs Scotland. Attacking wise he is brilliant, however his box kicks are not very accurate. That’s why Jantjies’s cameo did him harm.
Feel a bit for Evan, as he did what was expected. His battle stats might not be up there with the likes of Louw and Hanekom. Duane and co might not be fan or he just doesn’t fit in the Bok system.
@odevill@ChalynRugby Definitely agree with you. There’s been quality fetchers before Paul, that never got the chance. Not saying Paul is not good, he’s solid. It’s the system of the Boks/South African Rugby. Somebody like Kwagga had to evolve his game to be a certainty in the Boks lineup.
NZ have been clinical, however still shocked that Andy Farrell has not made subs earlier. Nearly minute 60, but majority of the pack is still on. #NZvsIRE
@mangorugby Tbh , I don’t really know much about Dobie. Kyle is brilliant on attack. So how are they in the air? Because with the team the Boks picked the Scots can expect an aerial bombarment.
On England side, George Martin is a physical specimen. I still think T curry is in the Top 5 of opensiders in the world, just going through a bit of rough patch. Freddie steward would have perfect for this game. The Boks D is smothering so couldn’t see much of the attack.
So recap after first bok “proper” test of the year. Initially thought the withdrawal of the 2 legends would affect us materially. I really thought it actually put England on a level playing field, however that’s the magic of the squad depth and overall calibre of South Africa.
Gaza was exceptional. Zach really showed up, not surprising as since last year he has been very good after going on tour with the Boks. So glad to see Paul dV out there, for all the fetchers with that body type. Concern over hooker as Malcolm had to play 80.
2 weeks out to the Boks vs England, I’m expecting England to pick Henry Pollock on the bench to provide the impact and bring the chat. Would’ve been nice to have SFM on the pitch too, because we know neither of them can keep their mouths shut 😂.
Bulls going to play old Blue Bulls/2019 springboks rugby. This comes at a very high risk if your forwards are not dominating and defense is shaky. Already down 2 tries, more to come? #LEIvBUL
@lmd_3212 Did you watch how physical he was against Leinster when he came on?? There are not many 4 locks that would “stand out” in the way expected by us as fans. I’m also not the biggest fan of him, but come on.
@Leighton_K I don’t think it’s all her fault. The home team will always get the 50/50 calls from the ref, nothing new. Moerat’s card was a bad call, but Ruan Ackerman spot on. That was stupid behaviour.
If this was Manie Libbok, certain influencers would have been commenting about his kicking. We know it’s Handré Pollard, but of course it’s just a bad game.
Probably the best game I’ve seen from Moefana. UBB’s defense have been immense. 20 minutes left. Not sure if Leinster will be able to get back into it, but you never know. The beauty of sport #LEIvUBB
