Wishing hearty congratulations to our friend @rogerbeverage on his retirement from the @OklahomaBankers. Our CEO @DonChildears was pleased to join several other state bankers association executives to celebrate Roger earlier this week.
For bankers, today we provided a 1-hour free COVID-19 webinar packed with info -- covering health issues, employers' considerations, bank risk management & proactive communication, and economic impact. If you missed it...
Missed our webinar on #coronavirus and banking? Don't fret. Watch it here: https://t.co/s0xS6BBB3e. Thanks to @EmployersCo, @DDPHE@ABABankers and @efirstbank for providing experts to present to our bankers today.
I had fun yesterday speaking at #mjbizcon2019 to explain to MJ folks why banks are restricted in serving them. The astute audience understood that only Congress can resolve this. The size of the conf (35,000+ in Las Vegas) opened my eyes on the scope of this industry.
Great info about the damage from Amendment 73 $1.6B tax increase. We all support excellent education but this one-sided proposal isn't the answer. Vote NO on 73. @noamendment73
David May, president and CEO of @FCCOChamber, sums up #Amendment73: “…deeply flawed and full of unintended consequences...”

A big thank you to @SenBennetCO & @SenCoryGardner for support of rational community bank regulatory reform in #S2155 which benefits consumers and passed the Senate 67-31. Well done.
YEAH! for @SenatorHeitkamp making great comments a few minutes ago on the Senate floor - well done - also thank @SenBennetCO & @SenCoryGardner - for support of rational community bank relief in #S2155 which benefits consumers
Kudos to @RepTipton who just wrote a letter to bank regulators about the need to modernize the CRA. About 20 Members of Congress signed the letter. Good move.
Thanks to @SenCoryGardner & @SenBennetCO for support of #S2155 for rational community bank relief with major benefits for consumers - like bank flexibility to lend again to low income, small business, retired, newly employed... now often blocked by fed law.
Excessive government standards often preclude bank lending to low income, small businesses, recently retired, newly employed… Congress should pass #S2155 to remove such gov’t hurdles. S. 2155 provides many consumer benefits.
Yesterday at CBA Legislative Luncheon we got to introduce
our new Bank Commissioner Patty Salazar – announced yesterday, 1st work
day is today. Congratulations Patty! https://t.co/g5X5RfcOzx
DORA Executive Director Marguerite Salazar has appointed a new State Bank and Financial Services Commissioner, Patty Salazar. Read the full announcement at https://t.co/7YCg2K5IV3.
@SenBennetCO deserves great credit for his early support for #S2155 to allow banks to serve customers' needs. @SenCoryGardner also supports S. 2155. Colorado's two great Senators. https://t.co/HQyC1p1FgK
Yeah @SenatorHeitkamp - and @SenBennetCO & @SenCoryGardner - for support of rational community bank relief in #S2155 with major benefits for consumers - like bank flexibility to lend again to low income, small business, retired, newly employed... now often blocked by fed law. https://t.co/z1fkdGdkDE
The bipartisan #Relief4MainStreet bill is desperately needed because community banks & credit unions must be able to compete & support consumers. But right now, many are struggling in part b/c of the unintentional consequences of Dodd-Frank. Our bill would change that.
Regardless of the reason, Millennials will be more able to get a home mortgage if #S2155 passes Congress. Now government rules preclude banks from lending to many of them due to insufficient earnings history. One of many great consumer benefits in S. 2155. https://t.co/LZK3WOaTvM
At yesterday's CBA Luncheon with 100+ bankers and dozens of Legislators, we highlighted a joint CBA/Goodwill Industries program, BankWorks, to train people seeking a career to be font line bank personnel: 3rd year of program, 80% hire rate, 80% retention - great day.
The credit union exec is right on taxing the big credit unions. Then when the CUs respond that "We're owned by our members", I say so are dozens of big mutual insurance companies and mutual banks and S&Ls -- and they're all taxed. Quit subsidizing them. https://t.co/nbQ1jK2eEf
