1. Yesterday, after we left Criminal Court 3, my father sent me WhatsApp a message.

2. It said “ Can’t you leave the country? The Govt is determined to nail you to the wall if you want to see the conclusion of this case.” Then he gave me examples of people who left their countries to avoid unjust persecution. And ended with “En effet, TO PARRY A BLOW is not Cowardice”.

3. This morning, he sent me another message that said “I will urge you [to] read about Alezei Navalny”

4. For those who don’t know, Alexei Navalny was a Russian lawyer, anti-corruption activist, and political prisoner of conscience. He organised anti-government demonstrations and ran for office to advocate reforms against corruption in Russia and against President Vladimir Putin and his government. He was poisoned by the Regime, and after he sought healthcare in Berlin, he returned to Russia where he was promptly arrested and jailed.

5. He died this February in jail. He was 47 years old!

6. Now, I understand a father’s worry for his son. Our justice breeds anything but. And for everyday I step into Court looking into the face of a Judge whose mind is made up. Who will much sooner sacrifice me for a chance of promotion by politicians I know exactly why my father is worried. No amount of law can move a judge whose mind is made up.

7. But I understand my father’s concern. No one gives birth to an activist or desires one for a son. And even though we all raise our children to be upright and always do the right thing. None of us actually wants an activist as our child. We would rather it is our child driving in the Stolen V8, while another man’s child, carries the other cross.

8. But we must live out our lives as one of dignity, and uprightness. Even if death was promised if we did the right thing and demanded Justice. We must always demand it.

9. For a country to so religious; I am amazed how little we ponder on the ultimate sacrifice of Christ. A people raised on so much of religious doctrine that lacks morals, empathy or principle. We will much sooner burn the Bible than follow its promise.

10. For me however, No Government, alien or mortal being, will ever make me consider exile from my own motherland. Not even if death awaits. If that was the case, I would not have boarded that plane to Ghana; knowing what I knew.

11. So I sent him back, this:

Cowards die many times before their deaths;
The valiant never taste of death but once.
Of all the wonders that I yet have heard,
It seems to me most strange that men should fear;
Seeing that death, a necessary end,
Will come when it will come.

12. For I will rather die as a Ken Saro Wiwa, than live as a Godfred Dame.

@Gen_Buhari_ Its not, it doesnt qualifies still. Compare Accra Terminal 3 with this, the space are too small to accomplish such a task as international but its better for local travelling. The sakora man did well but not enough. Compare to JDM Terminal 3 in 4 years he scored 19% 😂😂😂😂
