I can 100% get behind garbage collecting all the legal speak that makes things difficult to navigate.

@OyVeyIzhMir@charlescwcooke That's certainly an opiniated theory, now tell me the results of the last century (w\ a dept of labor) vice the century preceding.
Nothing is preventing states from their own implementation of standards. But we'd be an absolute laughing stock without national leadership here.
@OyVeyIzhMir@charlescwcooke That's your opinion, but the idea of 50 different OSHAs and 50 different BLS and 50 different ways to settle labor disputes...without an aggregation among them is not a winning strategy to be globally competitive, nor being able to attract employers and protect workers.
Naive.
@OyVeyIzhMir@charlescwcooke We have that, with guardrails for the whole of the US
But since you are scientific mind, you already knew that, and already knew promoting multi variability without a baseline and control doesn't yield sound (labor) science.
@OyVeyIzhMir@charlescwcooke In an increasingly border free world you want a patchwork of minimum labor regs, interpreted 54 different ways, based on physical geography.
Really?
@RedAlertFlorida @DrJillStein There should be no sacred cow for Doge.
At issue is the overhead costs to ensure compliance with laws and regulations imposed on the executive.
Relieve those requirements for agencies and you kill the root of the problem.
