ODM party leader Oburu Odinga notes that today’s Special Delegates Convention (SDC) is the first since the passing of the party founder and former Prime Minister, the late Raila Odinga
ODM delegates converge at Jamhuri Grounds in Nairobi for the Special Delegates Convention. The ODM leadership, led by party leader Oburu Oginga, has yet to arrive at the event.
@MarthaKarua@WilliamsRuto@orengo_james@RailaOdinga Please don't tag Raila Odinga in his death. Let Baba rest in peace. You rigged his victory in 2007 and delivered hot air in 2022 even in your own polling station.
Kilifi County reaffirms its commitment to the @TheODMparty !
Today, we travelled across the county, holding rallies in Garashi (Magarini), Mwanamwinga (Kaloleni), and Mtwapa (Kilifi South). The people have shown overwhelming support for our efforts to address their socioeconomic issues.
We remain committed to strengthening our grassroots support and Kilifi County remains a strong base of the party.

The World Bank Kenya wishes to clarify that the News release currently circulating regarding an alleged response to concerns about the @NYOTA_Kenya program is fake.
No statement of that nature has been issued by the World Bank Kenya.
Someone tell the so called ps Raymond Omollo that the war he's started with Governor Gladys Wanga will end in premium tears. He stoop so low by organising and paid those hungry Women ranting on the Streets of KISUMU of all places...He could have done that in his Village Kendu Bay
@gladyswanga never depended on her hands being raised. She has been a self made politician raised in a political family and she mastered the art from her father, who was once a Kisumu City Governor, read mayor.
At Kisumu Girls High School, she was suspended for agitating for the rights of students. She was a student activist and no one raised her hands over there.
In the year 2003, she dared to dream big and vied to be the first female Secretary General for a Kenyan student association.
As is the norm, you had to get endorsed by your tribal caucus before going for the seat. The Luo students christened Galamoro sat to choose between the two candidates, Gladys Wanga and Silas Rabah.
Galamoro declared that a woman would not come back home with the hunt and unanimously endorsed Silas Rabah as the sole Luo Candidate for the Kenyatta University Students Association.
She never gave up. She went straight to the ballot and thrashed Rabah to become the first Kenyan female student SG. Today, Silas Rabah is an employee of her government in Homa Bay.
In 2013, she campaigned to be Homa Bay Women Rep against the established Roslyn Onyuka. She was a household name who had served as an educationist in several districts, rising to be a top Provincial Director of Education. It was even tough for her to raise money to fuel her small car from Nairobi to the village to campaign. She relied on volunteer drivers and his brother Robert as part of the security team. Robert was then a very thin boy who could not even secure himself.
She could call for fundraisers and barely raise 100,000 for the campaigns. Despite all these odds, she managed to become the first Homa Bay County MP, and was reelected with over 99% of the votes in 2017.
In 2022, she vied against the Nairobi bigman @KideroEvans. The race reminds me of the 1979 Karachuonyo battle of the century between the Kanu disciplinarian Okiki Amayo and Mama Phoebe Asiyo. A woman of vigour against a giant of a man. She managed and won with a margin wider than the width of the earth.
She did not get the ODM ticket out of blackmail, but as a result of scientific inferences after the party conducted several opinion polls.
In the surveys ahead of the decision, Gladys Wanga was leading the race with 40% of the ODM votes, Kidero had 19%, while Magwanga was a distant third with 18% while Mbadi, Koriko, Ogwe and others shared the remainder.
Kidero was so adamant that he was the best fit. This is how the decision to pick Magwanga who was third was reached. If Kidero did not have an ego bigger than God Huma, then he was the best deputy for Gladys Wanga, having emerged second in the polls. He argued that he had served as governor before and DG post was a demotion. The only logical pairing for Gladys was Oyugi Mag - Wanga.
Magwanga never believed in the science of surveys and he was so reluctant. He spent almost no penny in the campaigns and him bolting out was a matter of when not if. We have always been ready for him.
Ong'ondo Were was one of the key pillars of our hope movement in Kasipul. After his brutal murder, many thought that they had finished Gladys. The SUPER strategists followed it up with a fake assassination script against Magwanga, to neutralise the ground. This never earned any sympathy and I hope the police would update us on this security issue. The SUPER strategists gave Magwanga money to campaign and they have been buying people who they believe are cog to Wanga's ascent in order to deflate the Genowa tyres.
In Kasipul, the SUPER team pretended to be with us, but deployed all their arsenal and monies to team Magwanga and Aroko.
For your information, PS Omollo took former speaker who had been Gladys Wanga's deputy designate and employed him. They took away the MCA for Kanyaluo Jeff Ongoro and many other people, in order to send perceptions that Team Wanga is growing thin. Little did they know that this is a movement that grows day by day, never shall it shrink. /2
