The PBO projects the federal deficit will nearly double this fiscal year, from $36.3B (1.2% of GDP) in 2024-25 to $72.0B (2.2% of GDP) in 2025-26. Even by 2030-31, the deficit is still projected at $58.2B, with no return to balance anywhere in the projection window. (2/6)
