I am increasingly less confident that the SEC will appeal the Ripple summary judgement decision if merely legal considerations are influencing the decision whether to appeal.

I pointed out in a post yesterday that Judge Orrick in the Kraken case preferred the approach of Judge Jackson in the Binance case and Judge Torres in the Ripple case that distinguishes between primary and secondary market transactions /1

I don't normally link to @UKLabour pages, but really everyone needs to read Keir Starmer's speech to appreciate its scary mix of authoritarianism and vacuousness.

He has nothing to say on immigration - literally nothing. And he has no understanding of how to generate growth. So he resorts to more of what Labour always do - raise taxes, borrow money, pay it out to their clients.

Things are definitely going to get worse, as Starmer admits. But it's hard to see why they will ever get better with Labour in charge.

Some of you might remember that on August 15, I shared a clip of a female sea lion that was having seizures on the shores of Newport Beach. Earlier today, I called the marine mammal center that rescued her and they gave me an update. A society that goes through such lengths to save a single seal is a moral one.
