The maternity unit at White Rock’s Peace Arch Hospital will be closed for the sixth time this year alone — this time for the longest stretch of six days — while expectant parents will be diverted to other care facilities.

It is no surprise a man with 400 police files and 67 convictions has “significant personal challenges, including homelessness, mental health issues, addiction, and a reported brain injury.”

Unless he receives treatment, possibly in secure care, and lifelong support for his brain injury he will continue to wreak havoc on the community.

What happened to the new acute care tower for Surrey Memorial Hospital? Announced in 2024, it is desperately needed to alleviate the critical overcrowding in obstetrics & other services.

In Penticton BC, we have a neighbourhood where over 500 people don’t have clean drinking water in their homes.

Sage Mesa is the example of what happens when the provincial government abandons its responsibility.

The reservoir is about to burst. Near a clay bank and a highway and other residences.

Despite the province seizing the water system almost 40 years ago, the provincial government has allowed this water system to collapse.

Now, residents are facing a 33 million dollar bill to fix it. This translates to approximately $1200 a month just to have tap water.

My constituents are at risk of losing their homes. Of having the water shut off and evacuating their homes. Seniors on fixed incomes and young families are distraught and cannot afford this- they are afraid.
