Recently back from visiting my sister in Jersey, where there is a States Assembly (legislative) election later this month. Most candidates' posters are so genteel -- "Please vote for me". Setting a good example to 16-year olds, who can vote in Jersey

THE PRISONERS HAVE VOTED!
David Cameron said the idea of prisoners voting made him "physically ill". But since 2017 prisoners in France can vote, and 17 out of 77 at the local clink did so yesterday. They report having plenty of time to study the candidates' programmes!
