@nithyavraman For anyone pissed about this, please consider also holding @HACLA1938 accountable: they're the ones who OFFERED the money to the LAPD. The LACC only ratified the agreement. If you want to affect change, you also have to put pressure on HACLA to change how they spend their funds
@telltalehearts1@r0gue64 @Radical_banshee @PplsCityCouncil@nithyavraman Fair point. Also I guess it's probably not as easy as "just" re-allocating those funds for "other community safety services" when those services might not even currently exist on a scale comparable to what the CSP offer can offer
@cd4losangeles@UNITEHERE11 @All4Transit @thaicdc It seems the @HACLA1938 are the ones to rag on for this: they requested and endorsed this agreement with the LAPD. If you're mad, consider putting pressure on them to give their money to non-bigotted community safety orgs instead of to the bigotted LAPD
@cd4losangeles@UNITEHERE11 @All4Transit @thaicdc Are you going to comment on your "aye" vote on Item 6 of today's LACC meeting agenda? What benefits do you expect to come from this, when LAPD has shown nothing but open contempt for people without homes?
@UCLA_Grad@PplsCityCouncil That is from when the motion was initially introduced in 2020. If you watch the video, which you can find on their site or through the following link, you can watch the vote for yourself. It starts at the 1hr32min02sec mark.

@veggiekween@r0gue64@PplsCityCouncil@nithyavraman At 1hr32min02sec, right after Buscaino says his piece, Nury Martinez states: "Thank you Mr. Buscaino. OK we're gonna go ahead and prepare to vote on this item, Item number 6. Madame Clerk, please call the roll" at which point they vote. It is the last item that is voted on
@r0gue64@PplsCityCouncil@nithyavraman Look at the date: those votes are from when the motion was initially introduced in 2020. You can watch the video of the meeting on their site. The vote for Item 6 starts at the 1hr32min10sec mark, and Nithya says "aye"
