It’s Holocaust Memorial Day. This year, I’m thinking of a woman called Sulamita Szapiro. Here she is as a student. We weren’t related and I don’t even know much about her, but I’m pretty sure that remembering her still falls to me. This is a thread about why.

I’ve a GP friend now having to isolate due to Covid, the last of 2 left standing in their practice. Their staff are shredded due to Covid. That leaves one GP to manage 13,000 patients. This is what allowing uncontrolled infection to run rife does. Unsafe for patients and staff.

Strongly discouraged certainly, but if no other prescriber is available or delay would cause undue harm, you are familiar with the pt's med history and the drug, and generally speaking not a CD, defensible. Have to inform pt's GP what you've prescribed, etc.
