Here's one of the bosses from the free Steam demo.

I spent a lot of time on the boss encounters, trying to give each one its own mechanics and attack patterns, while balancing difficulty, and keeping things fair.

I've hidden secrets throughout the levels, some much harder to find than others, but trust me, all are worth finding.
Exploring can reward you with new relics, treasure, hidden paths, or health when you need it most.

Some enemies are hiding in plain sight, waiting for you to get close.

This lantern is one of the more deceptive ones you'll encounter.

Relics are a big part of the combat in Accursed.

I wanted players to actually use them, rather than save everything for boss fights.

The jewel system is designed to encourage that.
You only get to hold onto 8 shots.

Here's a look at the Necromancer enemy.
They make things difficult by summoning the undead under your feet.
It's especially difficult when you mix hazards, like the falling chandeliers into the mix.

Accursed Bosses are the core experience of Accursed. It may look retro, but these bosses have a more modern design. With 13 total in the game, I wanted a boss to always be around the corner!
