"Shit sucks and everyone I know is one emergency from financial ruin."
"No, everything is great!"
"It's not. Everyone I know is broke or unemployed."
"Look at this chart. It says you're wrong."
Who does this actually work on?
@JoanRose2023@toasttothepost@honestpollster It still happened while they were adults
So they had more control than the kids of that era
And they don't seem to show any remorse
@GroyperJokic@revenant_MMXX Because things could be even worse of course
Most groypers seem to want a Democrat instead of Trump
Who's to say that wouldn't lead to even more illegals and even more war spending or other spending
@LarsonLarsen@morupside No, I just understand how economics works, whereas you do not
Goods become better and more affordable over time
If that's not happening, it means we're all getting scammed
I am calling out the problem whereas you are lazily ignoring it
You are in fact extremely lazy.
The solution to the affordability crisis is not for the government to "do something." It's actually for the government to STOP doing a lot of things it's been doing for decades.
If you are willing to buy a small house in the ghetto and eat like a third-worlder, America is a totally affordable place to raise a family.
Just make sure no one ever gets sick.
Get out there and live the American favela dream kids
@GroyperJokic@revenant_MMXX For that issue yes (but it's not clear Harris would've been better than Trump on immigration)
But I'm talking about the war spending
How do you know that money wouldn't have been wasted in some other way
Yes many of us grew up poor. But for Gen X, there was upward mobility. I don’t want people in America who work to stay poor. You could get ahead. That has changed a lot in the last 10-20 years. Dismissing this is glib - and electorally poisonous.
The big split on cost of living is that people can tell who wants them to have a better life, and who doesn’t. Being a rich guy in a podcast studio or on FoxNews is bad politics, bad karma, bad overall. You have to want people who read up to succeed.
@OwenBenjamin "Conservatives" nowadays will always resort to the following when anyone points out how we're all getting fucked
>YER JUST NOT COOKIN CHEAP ENUFF
>PULL UP YER BOOTSTRAPZ
Its 2026. We've been Gaslit enough. One day groceries will cost $700 for 1 meal and theyll still say it.
@antlionai No you're wrong
In a wealthy country, everything functions more cheaply and efficiently
This includes high-quality food production and delivery
