As we head into the Easter celebrations, I hope we are healthy, strong, and fit.
Here I was testing and running at Teryet National High Altitude Training Centre. Pushing limits & building endurance in the highlands
Strength, discipline & good health are part of the journey too.
Today, I also held discussions with H.E. Frederieke Quispel, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, on continued agricultural cooperation between Uganda and the Netherlands. She also updated me on the ongoing study tour to the Netherlands, where Ugandan farmers are gaining exposure to modern technologies and innovative farming practices.
I welcome the strong and cordial relations between Uganda and the Netherlands, which continue to advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
I am humbled by the recognition from CEO East Africa Magazine as #CEOOfTheWeek.
As the article rightly notes, POATE 2026 was an important moment for the entire team at @TourismBoardUg and the many partners who worked tirelessly to make it a success.
My call to our tourism industry, investors, development partners and private sector stakeholders is this: let us convert the connections made at POATE into bookings, partnerships, investments and bankable projects that create jobs and drive growth across our economy.
The visibility has been created. The interest has been generated. Now we must collectively turn that momentum into tangible results for Destination Uganda. #ExploreUganda

UGANDA AT KILIFAIR 2026
A team from Uganda, including members of the Travel Specialists Community and media representatives, is already on ground in Tanzania and has held preparatory meetings at the Uganda Consulate in Arusha to align plans for the exciting days ahead.
From Uganda Day and the Gala Dinner to the Uganda Village Exhibitions and other strategic engagements. The activities are aimed at strengthening tourism ties between Uganda and Tanzania while showcasing the very best of Destination Uganda to one of Africa's strongest tourism markets.
As part of the broader Uganda–Arusha Connect Campaign, these engagements continue to build meaningful partnerships, increase destination visibility, and create opportunities for cross-border tourism growth.
Special appreciation goes to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Uganda for consistently leveraging Uganda's missions and consulates to promote the Pearl of Africa beyond our borders, and to Anne Katusiime for her leadership and commitment to advancing Uganda's tourism interests in Tanzania.

KILIFAIR IS HERE!!
Every year, Arusha becomes the meeting point of East Africa's tourism industry as it hosts KILIFAIR, one of the region's leading tourism and travel trade exhibitions.
The event brings together tourism boards, tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers, airlines, media, and destination marketers from across Africa and beyond.
Through exhibitions, Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings, networking sessions, cultural showcases, and destination marketing activities, KILIFAIR creates opportunities for partnerships, business growth, and increased tourism flows across the region.
For Uganda, KILIFAIR is more than an exhibition. It is a platform to showcase the Pearl of Africa, strengthen regional tourism ties, and connect directly with one of East Africa's strongest tourism markets.
The journey continues.

Be sure to tune in.
As we commemorate #MartyrsDay, we honor the courage, conviction, and sacrifice of the Uganda Martyrs whose unwavering faith continues to inspire generations.
Their story reminds us that true legacy is built through dedication, resilience, and service to a cause greater than ourselves.
As thousands gather in remembrance today, may we reflect on the values they stood for and find inspiration to make a positive impact in our communities and in the stewardship of the natural and cultural heritage entrusted to us.
Wishing everyone a blessed and meaningful Martyrs Day.
Welcome to a new month and a new week!
A fresh opportunity to strengthen our commitment to conservation, sustainable tourism, and the protection of Uganda’s rich natural heritage. Every effort, no matter how small, contributes to safeguarding our wildlife and ecosystems for generations to come.
As we step into this new chapter, let us remain focused, collaborative, and purposeful in creating a future where people and nature thrive together.
Wishing you a productive week and a successful month ahead.
This morning, I had the opportunity to discuss the impact of the #POATE2026 on @ubctvuganda
Looking back at this year’s edition, it was truly fulfilling to witness months of preparation come together successfully through the collaboration of different tourism stakeholders, partners, and industry players.
With over 120 hosted buyers, more than 300 exhibitors, and about 500 trade visitors, POATE 2026 created a strong platform for meaningful business connections, industry conversations, destination visibility, and new opportunities within Uganda’s tourism sector.
While the expo may have ended, the work continues. As organisers, the focus now remains on keeping Uganda visible and competitive on the global tourism map. For tourism entrepreneurs and businesses, this is the time to strategically follow up on the valuable networks and opportunities created during the expo.
Well done to everyone who contributed to making POATE 2026 a success. Congratulations Uganda.

This year’s #POATE2026 edition once again proved the strength, diversity, and growing potential of Destination Uganda. From vibrant exhibitions, powerful B2B engagements, conferences, masterclasses, and high-level panel discussions
To cultural showcases, networking sessions, hosted buyer experiences, and creative industry participation. The expo created a meeting point for tourism, business, culture, conservation, innovation, and storytelling.
The participation from regional neighbors and international delegates further emphasized the importance of collaboration in positioning East Africa as one connected tourism destination.
Uganda, alongside partners from Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Egypt, and beyond, continued building stronger regional and international tourism relationships.

NOTICE TO TOUR OPERATORS!!
The @ugwildlife has issued guidance regarding the increasing requests for rescheduling gorilla permits following reports of the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and heightened health surveillance measures in Uganda.
UWA has clarified that permit rescheduling requests will only be considered upon clear confirmation from the overseas agent or client indicating inability to travel due to Ebola-related concerns. Once verified, rescheduling will be done at no additional cost, subject to permit availability on the requested alternative dates.

So sad that lives were claimed in this accident last night between Karuma and Pakwach. May the lost lives find utmost and endless peace in their rest.
It is true that death can't be cheated. But let us continue to drive at a safe speed. Even more careful through protected areas as this may claim both human and wildlife lives. And more keenly in the night
STAY SAFE!!

And while Uganda’s beauty is breathtaking, I continue to believe that our greatest attraction remains our people. The warmth, humour, resilience and hospitality of Ugandans are experiences no brochure or campaign can fully capture. They must be experienced.
May the momentum and belief we established at #POATE2026 give every Ugandan the impetus to innovate, collaborate and express themselves as only Ugandans can do. At @TourismBoardUg, we are more convicted than ever that a new day dawns for our sector. Its now or never. It’s time to convert the great engagements we had last week with international and domestic players, into bankable, commercial propositions. [3/3]
Very early this morning, after immersing in Uganda’s spiritual and historical heritage at Kasubi Tombs, Namugongo and the Source of the Nile, the Ethiopian delegation journeyed north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where the rhinos appeared almost “on appointment” to welcome the team into the real Pearl of Africa. Ancient civilization and ancient wildlife walked side by side. One of Africa’s Big Five stood calmly before the cameras, symbolizing Uganda’s successful conservation story and the return of rhinos after decades of extinction in the wild. #UgandaEthiopiaFamtrip #ExploreUganda #AfricanDiplomacy #VisitUganda #POATE2026 #PearlOfAfrica
Grateful to @NalubaleRafting, @UgandaMFA, @TourismBoardUg, and the Uganda Consulate in @ugconsulate_gz for supporting Back To The Source – The Nile as the story made its way back home.
Your support has played a big role in amplifying Uganda’s story, culture, tourism, and identity to both local and global audiences.
