5 years ago today, I professed my first religious vows as a Daughter of St. Paul.
There was a lot I didn’t know. But I was sure I wanted to give my life to Christ. And I was sure I wanted to continue my journey with the Daughters of St. Paul.
Fast-forward 5 years & there’s…
A sacred relic of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha will be presented this weekend at the Saint Kateri National Shrine and Historic Site in Fonda, New York. The Shrine will host this historic homecoming for public veneration. Accompanied by 1893 canonical documentation signed by the Archbishop of Montreal, this significant relic was rescued by the Saint Kateri Conservation Center and our community of supporters, many of whom are on X.

🌿 That We May... Create, Restore, and Grow
Every yard, garden, parish, school, and community has the potential to become a place where people, faith, and wildlife thrive together.
Through our Saint Kateri Habitats program, we're helping Catholics restore native habitats, welcome pollinators and wildlife, and create beautiful places of prayer, stewardship, and hope.
Your support helps us inspire and equip families, parishes, and communities to build faith and care for God's creation—one habitat at a time.
🌱 If you'd like to support this work, you'll find a donation link in the first comment.

While I am not Roman Catholic or Orthodox, I have found a lot of helpful theological reflection on the topic of “Sacramentals” in relation toward developing a Vineyard sacramentality.
I wish I had spent more time reading this literature when I was writing my dissertation because I think it would have helped a lot toward the development of the “sacramental tapestry” I was (am!) aiming for.
Many of our practices and experiences in the Vineyard find helpful summary and understanding with this language!

🌎 On Earth Day, we are reminded that creation is a gift and a place where we encounter God.
The Eucharist draws us into this reality. Bread and wine, fruits of the Earth and human hands, reveal our deep connection to land, water, soil, and all of creation. As the Indiana Catholic bishops reflect in their recent pastoral letter, creation and the Eucharist are inseparable: what we receive at the altar comes from the life of the Earth itself.
Caring for biodiversity means caring for the living world that sustains us and all that we receive from it.
On this Earth Day, may we give thanks and care more deeply for our common home.
The bishops' letter, "Integral Ecology: A Sacramental Vision," is linked in the comments.
